Any views on this hotel...possibly looking at it for daughter and boyfriend for a week...they are not driving... is it within walking distance to Universal and are there many restaurants within walking distance too

Yes you can walk to Universal. You will see plenty of people doing so, however you do have to cross a busy road, which can seem quite daunting.

Bear in mind though, if they're planning on going between June-Sept, it will be hot and humid, so this kind of walk everyday is not pleasant.
I think there may only be a couple of places to eat nearby (TGI's?). Check google maps for more info. So eating in City Walk after the parks might be easier.

Hi lovely hotel 10/15 minute walk or they have a shuttle bus though can't remember how often it ran. There is a Walgreens just along from it a Golden Coral and I think a millers ale house all just to the right as you come out. The TGI Fridays just across the road to the left. The room size we had was good and I would say a bit bigger than the universal rooms (been to cabana bay, hard rock and royal Pacific).
