First time onsite /por room choice olci

So we are off to por v soon 😀

Any recommendations on block we should request? I much prefer mansion/magnolia buildings. We only have a standard room. I believe I have to fax?!? Also is online check in through mde ?

Room 16 is probably the closest none preferred room to the food court, but it's not a Mansion building room. The buildings are just differently decorated shells though. The decor inside the rooms is different but they are the ale size with the same facilities. Mansion rooms don't have the pull down bed so they do have some additional storage space. Look on a map and decide if you want proximity to the food court or not and choose accordingly. Bear in mind it's just a request. Some people get lucky every trip. I've never got lucky in many, many trips! POR is beautiful I'm sure you'll love it whatever room you get. Yes you can do OLCI via MDE. It will offer limited drop down box choices. Good luck!

Cannot seem to see it on mde. Is it compulsory- if I fax them am I countering the on line check in

We did OLCI and asked for an upper floor corner room. It doesn't give you the option of asking for Alligator Bayou or Magnolia Bend' on MDE.

I think we'd prefer the mansions though and as there are only 3 of us I'm hoping that we'll strike lucky and get a mansions room. I'm considering a fax request nearer our holiday arrival, I think I've read these are best sent 5-9 days before your arrival date. Hope this helps!

If you've booked with Disney you will get an e mail when OLCI becomes available and there will be a hyper link to follow. You could also use touringplans room request service. Or send a fax. Don't do more than one of these options. It confuses them.

We didn't request a building. Just asked for upper floor corner room and adjoining (2 rooms). We got this both times. Once in Bayou and once Magnolia Terrace. Both areas were lovely. We'll be staying in the Bayou this trip as booked preferred rooms.
