Discovery Cove dolphon swim - how far?

I am hoping you can help me with the question of how far you actually have to swim when you do the deep water swim? I have only just learnt how to swim this year (specifically for this as it is our 20th wedding anniversary treat) and am still a little nervous. I have just done by 25metres and can treat water for 5 minutes. I can find lots of info on how deep the pool is but not about how far you have swim - is it much longer than 25 metres do you know?

thanks!

Hi

We did it last year. The dolphin encounter is in the shallows, but then there is an opportunity to swim with them at the end. You swim out, roughly 10m, and the dolphin brings you back. It is deep, and you cannot touch the floor but you are with another member of staff/trainer the whole time. If you can swim 25m and tread water, I am very confident you will be absolutely fine and will love every minute.

Have an amazing time.

Jane

You will be absolutely fine - this is the best day we have ever had in all of our visits to Florida - so enjoy it.

Hi
Don't worry I can't swim but still did it
The trainer took me out to the dolphin and he said the water is so salty you will find you float he then let me hold the dolphin who took me back, I'm heard on the video as saying thd dolphin will save me😀
I didn't even wear a life jacket!
However it was a difference story in the lagoon I trusted my then 1 day old DH who said you'll be fine your wet suit will hold you up to then stepped off a ledge to an 8 foot drop😡
Luckily the life guard came over and saved me! Lol

Oh it's very quick and you feel very safe I'm a rubbish swimmer and was nervous , but the awe and magic of being with the dolphin totally got rid of all those feelings , really nothing scary about it , and I'm a total wuss lol

I can only imagine that it would be a daunting experience for someone who cannot swim. My husband cannot swim, has no interest in learning, and went on to do it 4 yrs ago and is happily doing it again next year. I’m sure you will have a brilliant experience as we all did

I've done the swim from the deep back to the shallow end & I can't tread water! They let me keep the buoyancy vest on so I just bobbed there & the dolphin collected me lol. Took it off the rest, photos etc. You'll love it! Enjoy!

Hi we did the swim last year one of our group was not a strong swimmer and he did the dolphin 🐬 swim in the shallow water. You do not swim they tow you from the deep bit to the shallow end or you can do it all in the shallow end. It was the best day of our holiday so chilled out you will enjoy it.
