How could I get this home?
I would love to buy this when we are out next month but iI don't think it would fit in my suitcase. Does anybody have any idea how much it would cost me to mail it back to Scotland, assuming I can buy packaging somewhere. I know there is a Post Office at Celebration. Thanks Pamela Edited at 10:49 PM. |

You can box it and check it in as luggage on your flight home.

could you not just pack iy extremely well and take it and check it as oversize luggage. We did that with a 7ft Christmas tree!
I love the signs, I have a Soarin' Flight Crew only one. |

Thanks for the suggestions but I can only take one suitcase so I guess that would mean I would have to pay for extra luggage and if so wouldn't it be cheaper to mail it home?

I cant remember paying any extra but it was many years ago and they didn't charge an arm and a leg for everything!

I think Disney offer a shipping service where they will ship stuff back to the UK for you. I saw a trip report where a couple had bought a picture in frame out there and had it shipped via Disney. No idea how much it cost I'm afraid, we tend to just buy the pictures without frames and bring them back in our luggage!

Depends who you fly with but likelihood is it'd be cheaper and safer to pay for an extra bag than to pay for trackable shipping. Friend of mine wanted a particular Starbucks mug from the US and the shipping (bought by a friend not Starbucks own so she shopped around)was ridiculous compared to the size and price of the mug.
Normal parcel post might be risky it never arrives. Edited at 02:00 AM. |

Probably paying for an extra case would be cheaper.
I sometimes post stuff home from my holibobs so I know that postage from the US is expensive. Plus the parcel would probably be charged VAT and import duty on the value of the parcel when it reaches the U.K. VAT is also charged on the postage, and Parcelforce charge a fee for collecting the taxes. PS : I've just put the weight and dimensions of your 'object of desire' into the US Postal Service price calculator. Of the 3 quotes on the attached screenshot, the most expensive is for 'tracked', the next expensive is their equiv of our 1st class standard (not tracked) and the cheapest is 2nd class ditto. Oops I've just seen it's not very clear but it gives you an idea, just squint ! Hope this helps Linda xx Edited at 02:40 AM. Reason: To add USPS quote |

Could you bubble wrap it and put it in your hand luggage, looking at the sizes given, it's not that big

looking at the sizes listed I would say it should fit an a suitcase just make sure you pad around it well.
Even if you had to pay for an extra extra bag its likely to be cheaper and far quicker than posting. If you post it you'll have all the import fees to pay uk end on top of the postage charge |
