Credit Card Cloned fraud at MCO
Hey dibbers, just a heads up to be extra vigilant if you have used one or would use one of the cash machines at MCO Orlando airport recently. I discovered today that my card was cloned and they have managed to get $1200 plus charges from my account. I have rarely taken cash with me from home thinking it safer to use ATMs while here... might have to rethink that approach in future. My bank has been really helpful and is investigating but to be honest I thought they'd have stopped the card after seeing three $400 withdrawals minutes apart especially as they stopped my card when trying to get a Starbucks a few days ago. Hopefully it will get sorted soon and if you have used the ATMs at the airport (arrivals terminal B) you might want to keep a close eye on your account.

Unfortunately, these cretins are everywhere. I take my cash with me from the UK, and I only use a credit card when abroad - at least if its cloned, its not my cash being taken, but rather the credit card company's.
I really hope you get sorted. Have you or your bank reported it to the airport?

It was probably done when the card was actually used at the ATM. Criminals may have fitted a "skimmer" to the machine itself which users don't spot.
Here is an example: Very difficult to detect. And they are also used in the UK. If a machine doesn't look right, don't use it and report it to the relative bank. |
