Twilight check in - anyone done it? (Gatwick)

We are flying on VS15 out of Gatwick tomorrow. We live fairly nearby so we were thinking of doing the twilight check in tonight, to drop our bags off. Then we can get a smaller taxi tomorrow and not have as much hassle in the morning. Has anyone done this and would you recommend it? Do we just go to the normal bag drop Q?

I've done it with Thomson at Gatwick a few years back, also live local as well. Personally I didn't find it saved any time because the next morning we went and there was no queue anyway. Now we just go on the morning and join the queue, it's never too long with Thomson.

Thanks. I'm thinking it should be easier tomorrow (particularly with 1 child who detests queues ) so we will go for it. Just need to make sure we don't forget anything!

We always do it but living in Rugby we stay overnight at the airport as well.

Park the car in the multi-storey, twilight check-in, relaxing dinner, substantial buffet breakfast and a stroll over to the terminal and straight through security.

we always do twilght checkin
everyone needs to go with you adult & child
they ask you where your staying overnight & for a contact number
take your luggage and issue your tixs if you haven't already printed them
In the morning go straight to security easy and less stress esp with kids

we always do it, it makes little sense to do it for us because we live close and its a pain but i just can't wait! its like starting the holiday early, getting to the airport sparks the already bursting excitement even more, makes the morning a bit more relaxed as your not threating about what you have forgotten, its already too late hehe

We always used to do this when we travelled with the kids in school holidays. We live quite near Gatwick, so we used to do the check in, have dinner, wander around the shops ( when there were some!), and then go home for the night.
