The trip of many changes August 2017 trip report index

We've been home almost a week now so it must be time to start the trip report. The pre trip report was going really well but I just ran out of time to update it much in the last few weeks before our trip. I'm hoping that my notes and memory are good enough to get me through the the end of our trip.

Here is a link to the PTR.

PTR

For anybody who doesn't want to read through the PTR we are a family of 5. Mum/Me (Jo) DH/Dad (Ollie) DD Robyn (14), DD Hattie (12) and DD Evie (9). This is a picture of us from our first trip in 2015.

Our dates were 3rd August-22nd August and we stayed 3 nights at the Residence Inn, 12 nights at AKL Kidani Villas with DDP and 4 nights at Universal PB. This is what we did. I will add a link to each day as I get them done.

3rd August Day 1 - travel day
4th August Day 2 - Walmart and Seaworld
5th August Day 3 - Kennedy Space Center
6th August Day 4 - Animal Kingdom and Magic Kingdom
7th August Day 5 - Epcot and Disney Springs
8th August Day 6 - Hollywood Studios and Animal Kingdom
9th August Day 7 - Magic Kingdom and Epcot
10th August Day 8 - Busch Gardens and 'Ohana
11th August Day 9 - Blizzard Beach and Hollywood Studios
12th August Day 10 - Attempted 4 park day Animal Kingdom and Magic Kingdom.
13th August Day 11- Magic Kingdom and Hollywood Studios
14th August Day 12 - Busch Gardens and Boma
15th August Day 13 - Typhoon Lagoon and Epcot
16th August Day 14 - Animal Kingdom and Magic Kingdom
17th August Day 15 - No parks, Chef Mickey dinner
18th August Day 16 - Magic Kingdom and transfer to Universal
19th August Day 17 - Universal Studios
20th August Day 18 - Islands of Adventure and Blue Man Group
21st August Day 19 - Islands of Adventure
22nd August Day 20- Universal Studios, Islands of Adventure and flight home
Final thoughts and future plans.

Really looking forward to reading as it's our first time visiting in August (we've been October half term before) and I'm worried about the weather, the heat, how busy it'll be lol.

We are tied to school holidays this time around so going 7th-21st August and the boys don't know ;-).

Going to start the pre trip as that along with travel day are my fav parts of a trip report lol 😶

Thanks for joining us. It was quite busy at times but I've got no other time of year to compare to. With a sensible plan we got loads done

We didn't find the heat as bad as we were expecting. We found it ok if we were stood in the shade but being stood out under the sun for any length of time could be a bit unbearable especially during the middle of the day. Luckily any time you start feeling a bit too hot you can just duck inside - the aircon was freezing though so I ended up being glad to get back out into the heat!

Enjoying reading along. Looking forward to your final thoughts. We are (not so) patiently waiting to book 3 weeks in July 2019 and we are planning up to 2 weeks on site at disney, universal, seaworld, Busch Gardens and Kennedy too. Will be interested in your thoughts on three hotel locations and the order/mix you did the parks in.
