Discovery Cove kids interaction

We are thinking about DC next visit and my 6 year old daughter can't wait, but my 8 yr old son is a different matter and he doesn't think he wants to swim with dolphins as he is scared. We have done the swim before and know you do the swim out to be brought back by them. Is it the same with the children?

yes exactly the same, you can do it in the shallow water though if you want

Yes my DS7 done it this year, you can either do a shallow swim where the dolphin pulls you along in thigh/waist deep water or the deeper swim where you swim out and tread water before being pulled in. That is the last thing you do, loads of interaction with the dolphin before so maybe he will be confident enough when it comes to it, the trainers are great, I'm sure if you mentioned it to them he is scared they would encourage him.

My son did the shallow water swim.

There was a young girl in our group doing the shallow swim, they still do the same distance.

We did this, my son 7 was reluctant to go in the deep water. The trainers were so good with him. He did his last, they took him in the shallow water and he was pulled along there. He was a bit nervous but he really enjoyed himself. So impressed with the staff there, they were fantastic.
