Liz Dawn has died.

Known to millions as Vera Duckworth, Liz has passed away.

In a statement, the 77-year-old's family said the actress died peacefully at home on Monday night with relatives around her.

It read: "We are devastated and heartbroken at the passing of our much-loved wife, mother, sister, grandmother and great grandmother, the incredible Liz Dawn.

"She has been the love, light and inspiration in our lives and we are bereft at her passing."

Haven't watched Coronation St since back in the 80's but I remember she was very good in the role she played.

Aw a lovely woman. My nieces met her on a flight to Spain. Made a great fuss of them, they said she was just like her character on Coronation street.
She'll be a great miss.
