Spectrolee's Three Week Disney Trip - Day 11 Disney Springs, Magic Kingdom, POR
Today started out in lazy fashion Breakfast on the balcony watching the golfers go by. The Minnie shopping trolley is still a hit! We got this last night as our side with some chicken nuggets we got for Ed. These aluminium Bud Light bottles are 16floz which is a pint. It fit exactly into the refillable mug, yippee! Kept it cool for ages. We headed to the dock and had just missed a boat. Another one was there 2 minutes later, and we were on our way to the Springs within 5 minutes The trip over took 6 minutes Matt, Eva and Ed headed to the Magic Kingdom to see the parade. Isabel, Davie, Joni and I went to Disney Springs. I love the new Springs area at the Landing. We've never tried Frontera Cocina so we headed there. We got some guacamole and tortillas to start (not covered by DDP) It tasted as good as it looked Isabel and I had Dos Equis beer Davie had a Corona Carne Asada for Isabel Davie and I had Shrimp Mojo de Ajo There were two ways for it to be served Davie took the rice option This was the better choice. The sauce was delicious (almost like a tikka masala) and it came with corn tortillas also. Mine was served with refried beans, salsa, guacamole and tortillas Some Arroz con plantains for Joni Our server, Manny, was delightful. He made recommendations, was really friendly and made sure Joni had everything she needed. She really liked it when he came to our table to chat. Manny was from Puerto Rico and had still not heard if his family were ok after hurricane Maria. He was hoping to get back there soon. Davie and I had the pecan pie bar Joni helped us out with it. Isabel had the sorbet, but I never got a photo of it. Bills before and after DDP deduction We left $75 to cover drinks, starter and gratuity. We wandered in and out the shops for a while. Uniqlo I got some new lipsticks from Sephora Lots of pictures now of Marketplace Co-Op These displays were well put together Tiki room dress I love the pattern on these Dooney and Burke bags Tower of Terror This dress part was the ending (farewell part) of Its a Small World Haunted Mansion Love the travel section There was a monorail pull along bag, but I couldn't see a price. I'll go back though and check it out again. Headed through TrenD Lots of Star Wars clothing for girls Time for a seat and refreshments at Dockside Margaritas No longer showing on the menu, but we could still get the Dockside Iced Tea (it was lethal) There's live music her throughout the day Joni got a CD of one of the acts I took Joni across to Once Upon a Toy for a cool down The back section is curtained off as they make it into a Star Wars area. New Jessie doll We had some Poutine from The Daily Poutine I love this stuff: chips, cheese curds and loads of gravy. The Christmas shop has lots of Halloween decorations too And lots of Christmas baubles, stockings etc Lots of Star Wars tree decorations While we were at the Springs Eva, Matt and Ed were over at Magic Kingdom Ed loved the dragon in the Festival of Fantasy Parade They ate in Skipper Canteen and loved it. Eva had the 'tastes like chicken because it is' Char Sui Pork for Matt Chips and ketchup for Ed They got in touch with us and told us to wait at the Marketplace for them so we could head for a wee trip up the Sassagoula to Riverside. Joni delighted looking across to the Characters in Flight balloon The boat took 25 minutes We have stayed at Riverside many times and still absolutely love this place. The buildings and grounds are beautiful. You can get a carriage ride round the Port Orleans resorts There is some construction/repair work happening here, just at the Riverside Mill end of the building. We headed into Fultons General Store for a browse. This ship has one of the best selections and variety on property. Dole whip and Mickey premium bar plushes No shortage of Star Wars merchandise here either This wookie looks like he's had a night on the tiles! Pop tarts Gorgeous lobby Riverside Mill menus Joni had some chocolate cake The windows have blackout blinds at the moment And the front are is sectioned off Back to the boat dock for our return trip The Riverside boat takes you back to the Marketplace end of Disney Springs We walked home past Congress Park And walked round the back of the main building This is the golf club snack bar 'Chips and Slices' genius name! Ed found a snake with his torch (Well it was a branch, but he was delighted haha) No pool tonight, we were all exhausted. Thanks again to everyone for reading along and your lovely comments xx |
