Excited about Disney

I'm not sure that Disney have done themselves any favours with the sale last year. There's loads above (and me also) now waiting for a December sale that may not come. Disney are potentially losing sales over the next few months as people hold out. Then if the sale doesn't come, I bet a fair few will then make other plans meaning they miss out completely.

What is the sale is announced at 10% in December? Do we hold out for more or cash in?

The costs of Disney tickets has sky rocketed since 2013 (1574 for 21 day tickets in 2013, 2306 for 14 day tickets in 2018) and they are pricing people out. Nobody expects the prices to go down but they need to create consistency.

I get what youre saying but if they dont offer a sale this year it wont change our plans other than we will buy the 21 day instead of the 14. Yes its expensive but we still go. If the prices keep rising to a point where we are priced out we will go but less often.

Another waiter here, needing 5 tickets for next year. Was going to get the 21 day ultimate but IF there is a discount and on the 14 day passes we will plump for those instead.
Fingers crossed

The official price for 2018 tickets are 419 (Adult). Surely, nobody pays that?

Sub 300 is my target price.

It was hard enough for us to swallow paying 1450 for 4 adult 21 day tix for this October (back in Nov 2016)! We always previously bought tix for all parks (WDW, US/IOA & SeaWorld x 2) but prices have skyrocketed since our last visit in 2012, leading to us dropping US/IOA this time round. I'm sure more and more people have had to make similar decisions

Do Disney price match? Also if I was to book hotel/tickets with them now and only pay deposit for the benefit of free dining can I then cancel/ask for the difference back if the cost of tickets drop?

Last year we only did disney and seaworld. Had always previously bought disney ultimates and the flex ticket and did everything. We are doing universal aswell as disney next year but will be our last trip for a few years so we dont mind the extra cost.

We did really enjoy only doing disney though and would definitely do trips in the future with just one or the other. We had so much time to do everything we wanted and to also spend time swimming, shopping etc.

The cost of the US Disney tickets have been fairly consistent - increasing by around 5% each year.

The cost of the UK Disney tickets were also fairly consistent - rising by around 9% each year - until a certain event happened last year that led to a poor exchange rate.

The larger than normal increase in price may have been a result of that or may be due to Disney UK being greedy and using that event as an excuse. Although I would note that Universal increased it's ticket prices by a much larger percentage.

Funny enough, originally the 2017 tickets were priced at 419. They were then discounted to 299 and then rose to their current price of 369 (these are official prices on Disney UK's website, not elsewhere).

I think Disney might have a tendency of setting it's prices high to begin with (especially during the free dining period) and then reducing them slightly as time goes on.
