We just got back after taking our toddler who turned two and he loved it. Like you, we took him to both Butlins and Legoland before hand to test run him on rides to get him used to it and there were a number of rides he didnt enjoy or just flat out refused to go on.

He was still skeptical of a couple of rides on the first day or two but after that he completely settled in and by the end was pulling us towards all the rides he wanted to go on. You'll be amazed how much they mature in such a short space of time and im sure your little one will be much more eager to try things out once they are 2 and a half years old.

One suggestion I would give you is to try Magic Kingdom first, there's alot of smaller rides that you can ease them in with such as the Carousel, Tea Cups, Dumbo etc and then you can build them up to other rides like Its a Small World, Peter Pan, The Little Mermaid, Pooh etc etc.

Some of the queues are more interactive so she may be distracted and happy to go on.
You have tales with Belle in MK that she might like. Lion King show in AK & frozen ever after in HS.
Don't push her for any rides you'll have a great time anyway.

I took my DGS and his parents as well as my DD when DGS was 11 months. He was quite slow to warm to new things at that age and we only tried a few rides with him (Safari in AK, Living with the Land in Epcot and it's a small world in MK. Much of the time it was DD dragging her brother and sister in law on all the rides I didn't want to do when we went just the two of us.

DGS was very happy just watching everything. He was in his buggie most of the time but enjoyed the Lion King Show and watching his father join in a dance at the AK. It was a thrill for me because his father would not have joined a show so enthusiastically before becoming a father.

We found AK a great place for a little one-so much to see at every turn and some gentle rides too.

He is now 3 and DD and I talk about how we want to take him back. Even if he chooses not to ride, just looking and exploring will keep him plenty busy.

If you're concerned why not put it off for a year or two till she's a bit older?

I would have thought It's a Small World is the least traumatic ride in Disney World. Dumbo, the Carousel and Tea Cups have an element of speed and excitement associated with them!

They change so much at that age. The thing is not to push her. I remember the great excitement at MK when we saw a rabbit in the bushes. Not forgetting the ducks at Epcot.

Yeah true, as far as speed anyway. But our son seemed to be happier getting on rides like the tea cups and Dumbo that he could watch and see what they were first rather than getting into a wobbly boat not knowing what it was or where it was going to go.
