Mobile From Contemplation to Booked Vacation - Day 6 (LIVE)

Day 6 - Monday 7th May

I slept in this morning until 8:15, then spent a bit of time checking my phone before getting up and having a long shower. I got out of the shower just after 9, picked out some clothes and got dressed. I had one of my Starbucks iced coffees and the rest of the pink donut for breakfast.

I left the room at 10:20 and headed to reception as I wanted to print something. The computer and printer are free to use which is really helpful! I printed a coupon I had for Longhorns, but hadn’t been able to print at home. I left the hotel at 11, and my first stop was the brand new Walmart on N Old Lake Wilson Drive (just off the 192 opposite Sherberth Road) for some gas. I also picked up a drink as their fountain drinks were only 86c for any size. I got the middle size which was still a bucket! I put $10 in the car which was about half a tank, taking me to 3/4 full. I’d seen the sign for Walmart gas from the main road when I first arrived last week, but because it didn’t show up on my map, I presumed that it was *just* the gas station!

My next stop was Celebration to go to the post office, and I took some time just to sit at the water’s edge on one of the rocking chairs and finish my bucket of drink! I took a walk around the lake and ended up buying an iced coffee in Starbucks as I needed to use their bathroom.

I left Celebration at 1 and headed to Golden Corral for some lunch. I used a coupon for a free drink with a meal so the total cost was less than $10! I had some green food again, and lots of not green food!

I left there at around 3 and headed just up the road to Vineland Outlets. I went into the Disney shop and bought a sweater, a clip charm from 2015, a pin and an aerial topper. I then walked around to Skechers where I found two pairs that I liked but they didn’t have my size in stock. So I walked round and saw a different pair I liked the look of but again couldn’t see my size so I asked an assistant who was absolutely useless. Instead of looking on the computer as the previous person had, she climbed up their huge steps and scanned all the piles, before helpfully telling me that they had the white. Which wasn’t what I’d asked her to check.

I took a walk round, had a look in a couple of other stores and headed back to the car. I made a quick pit stop in McDonalds for a drink, and headed back towards the 192, where I knew there was another Skechers outlet. And this one was “get the second pair 50% off”, where the Vineland store had been “get the second pair 30% off”! So I was glad I’d made the choice not to settle back at the Vineland outlet. I got the pair that I’d really wanted, and they didn’t have my size in the other pair I’d liked, but I found another one instead and I was very happy with my choices. For me, it’s not an America trip if I don’t return with at least 2 new pairs of Skechers!

I got back in the car at 8pm, and headed back to the hotel via the new Walmart I visited this morning. I had one thing in mind to buy, as I’d been tempted in Vera Bradley but knew I’d seen cheaper in Walmart... I was going to buy a waist bag/belt bag. A bum bag to you and me. Although I only had a couple of days left of the trip, I was growing tired of having to constantly take a backpack on and off and root around for anything I wanted.

$40 lighter (damn you Walmart!) I headed back to the hotel, debating whether to shower tonight or in the morning. I decided I’d do it tonight as I might be too lazy in the morning. So a second shower it was. And I would be liberally using my body lotion afterwards as parts of my arms had turned a fetching shade of pink. Thankfully it was just that I’d caught the sun as opposed to fully burning, it didn’t hurt and wasn’t hot to the touch. Hopefully it would be going brown by the morning!

And that is where I’m leaving it tonight. I’ve got my ‘dinner’ that I picked up on Walmart, definitely not properly hungry and didn’t fancy fast food again! See you tomorrow!
