Getting to Boggy Creek from I Drive

We have a trip booked to Boggy Creek. We are staying at the Residence at SeaWorld and don't have a car.

Can we get there from our hotel using public transport or is taxi best and how far away is Boggy Creek?

Thanks all

According to Google Maps, it's between 27 and 36 miles from your hotel, depending on the route taken. I'd be very surprised if there was public transport there as these things tend to be off the beaten track a bit in the swampy areas. I'm not sure if you'd be able to get an Uber there/back, and the Mears taxi fare estimator is saying about $70 each way.

Have you already paid for the Boggy Creek trip? You might be better off looking at a 1-2 day car hire. We did that one year when we wanted to visit some places that were further afield and it worked out well for us and much cheaper than taxis. We paid £56 for 2 day car hire for a midsize SUV.

Thanks so much for your time researching this and providing the information.

We got our package through Thomas Cook and when we originally enquired there was a trip with transport to Clear Water included however, when we returned to book the holiday this trip wasn't available and was replaced with a trip to Boggy Creek. At the time of booking we weren't informed there would be no transport and only found this out when we went to collect our park and Boggy Creek tickets on Sunday. So we are disappointed in this and are enquiring about a change but it doesn't look hopeful.

uber will be about $40 each way so other than a days carhire this is cheaprst option.
I like the airboats and have been a good 1/2 day trip.
Enjoy whatever you decide.

I'd be worried about getting an Uber to pick up for the trip back. I might be wrong, but I got the impression that Uber drivers tend to be in the busier, more populated areas so they can pick up jobs easily and quickly. I doubt there would be many around the Boggy Creek area, but I could be completely wrong.

I agree. We could be wrong but personally I wouldn’t take the risk, it’s a remote place.

Hiring a car is the best bet then you could also go to Clearwater as you originally wanted.

Justed looked on Uber and its showing cheapest fare of $39 from MK to Boggy Creek as an example.. (taking into time difference) - shows 7 mins for a car to arrive.

For the return route, shows $43 and 6 cars in the area with approx 13 mins wait.

When we were Ubering to Universal last year we had a driver who said he'd had a family book him for a trip. They got talking and they told him they got stuck out at Boggy Creek after an airboat ride as they couldn't get any wifi to request an Uber pick up on the way back (don't think they realised it was quite remote).

Ended up having to get a normal taxi for $$$$ - Ouch!
