Getting free dining when okw not released.

A friend is wanting to book to stay a week at Disney for next October, as there are 6 of them she’s hoping for okw or as but they won’t be released until December and by then free dining will have finished. The only proves she has been given are for AK and GF. If she books one of these when okw is released in December if there is availability can she change and still keep the free dining? I know she would need to take the hit on the amendment fee as the price will decrease.
I have suggested renting dvc points but it’s first time so I don’t think she’s keen!

I think free dining finishes during September for OKW and SSR x

Unfortunately you can't get free dining at OKW or SSR for check in dates past 16th September next year. This is from the T&Cs of the offer this year:
Free Dine is available to book in Disney Deluxe Villa Resorts for selected arrivals from 1 January - 7 April, 2019 and 26 April - 16 September, 2019 only.

If they're wanting to go in October, they'll have to look at alternative accommodation, but haven't got long as it ends on 6th November. They've just missed out on the $100 gift card too as that ended last week.

How about booking for only part of the family or booking for less nights than needed then adding them on when changing resort to increase the cost and avoid amendment charge? so long as a booking is made while the offer is on it is still valid, in theory you can book one person in a value resort for 5 nights with ticket package to get the free breakfast and only pay a £50 deposit until the resort of choice becomes available or worst case scenario it doesn't and they just lose the deposit.
