From Pacific to Atlantic - August 2019: Day 14 (Epcot and Travel Day)
Up this morning fairly early and did our packing, then got some snack credits for breakfast. We took the cases to bell services so they could hold them for us while we went to the park and we checked out of the room. We went to Epcot on the boat and had a bit of a walk round world Showcase which was just opening. Morocco pavilion. Italy. Italy again. We went to Karamelle Kuche to use up some snack credits - we bought loads of werthers sweets and got them to package up some of the caramel squares. Then we headed to our final lunch reservation at Via Napoli. I love the big pizza ovens named after volcanos - Etna, Vesuvius and Stromboli. We had pizza of course! Nice refreshing drink - not too sweet. Red sangria - this was delicious actually. Pizzas were good although one was a little burnt on the bottom. Desserts were also delicious, particularly the tiramisu which was the nicest dessert we had all holiday. After this we headed back to the hotel to get our bags and our transfer to the airport. We were all sad that the holiday had come to an end but we had a lovely time while we were away - now for the long trip home! Our driver came to pick us up right on time and took us to Sanford airport. The queue to check in was really long but we managed to bag extra legroom seats even though we didn't pay for them (I think it's because we didn't pay for seats together and the only seats that hadn't been booked were in extra legroom). The benefit of the long queue at checkin was that the queue for security was really short. We had to get all of the snacks out of our bags as well as the electronic equipment - not sure what that is about? We bought some stuff in duty free for our parents who had looked after our house and dog, Oscar. Then we had a short wait before getting on the flight home. The flight was fine - the food was pretty awful though - particularly breakfast which was supposed to be omelette with baked beans and hash brown, it was horrible. I managed to watch 2.75 films on the way home! Something about Mary (classic!) one about a family of wrestlers that I can't remember the title of, and then all but the last 15 mins of a film called Arrival which I now can't find on either Netflix or Amazon prime. We landed on time and picking up cases and then our car was straight forward. After a 40 min drive we were home! Mum had tidied the house for us and got in some shopping for us coming back which was really lovely as it meant we could just relax and catch up on a bit of sleep. |
