Does party size effect booking availability?
Hi guys
so on Saturday I can book our reservations so I decided to try a few dummy booking but loads of places are showing no availability … Im guessing a few are due to popularity (story book dining, ohanna) but almost all are showing nothing. could this be due to our party size ? and I have noticed a few people calling to book .. is this a better option ? Thanks Lisa

I would say a bit yes (although you don’t say what size your party is.) We were a party of 7 in Oct 2018 and I found the time options were more limited than booking for a table of 4 like we normally do. My advice is to be a bit more open minded about timings, and book the most important ones first. There is the odd restaurant that has a max party size ie; Narcoossee’s max table size is 7.
We did get everything we wanted though so try not to worry about that. Kat

Yes, we wanted California Grill brunch, but when we tried to book at 186 days out, there were no available times for a party of four. We searched again, but changed it to a party of two, and they had two slots, five minutes apart, so we booked as two parties of two. I called to see if they could help us sit together, and the CM put notes on both bookings to say that it’s for a family of four who would like to sit near to each other,
We called to book CRT as we couldn’t select that we were paying with dining credits online. The only downside to calling was having to wait until 12, but they still had the time we wanted, so it wasn’t a problem. I would try booking whatever you can online from 11am, then call for any you’re having trouble with once the phone lines open. You could also try dummy bookings for smaller party sizes to see if that’s what is affecting availability for you.

It will definitely be the party size. You may have to book a 5 and a 4

This might be useful if you are looking to see which restaurants will accommodate 9 guests. It also gives advice about booking for a larger group.
