Im so stressed, I can’t even do anything

I have Tourette’s. And it’s stressing me out so so so much. And there’s nothing I can do.

I’m having violent tic attacks multiple times daily, usually in the evening so luckily I’m usually in bed. So I’m safe but still, it’s a nightmare.

I’m covered in bruises from the attacks.

My tics are so bad as well.

I’m just so tired, exhausted and stressed.

No point going to the doctors because they can’t do anything. Still waiting for a neurologist appointment. Which will probably be sometime next year due to wait times because of COVID.

I just want a break but I can’t have a break, it’s just not how it works.

Sorry I just needed a rant.

I'm so sorry you are going through this.
My husband was suffering from a neurological complaint that wasn't diagnosed. We paid to see a private neurologist. For us the £250 was money well spent as the consultant admitted him to hospital where we got a diagnosis.
Maybe not the way forward for you. I hope you get some respite soon.

You are more than allowed to vent on here-hugs to you. I hope that by sharing your frustration with us has helped.

I am pretty sure you have explored all avenues, but are there support groups who can offer advice and assistance?

Again, sending you best wishes

Big hugs to you Hexagon, it’s good to vent on here as we are all here to listen and support you xx You’ve faced a lot over the past few years and you’ve done it so bravely.

You are allowed to moan about it sometimes, it’s difficult to deal with and it’s so sad that it’s harder to get treatment now due to the backlogs in the NHS through Covid. I do hope you can get help sooner than next year.

Always here to listen if you need us xx

Hi Hexagon, I know there’s no real answer to the problems that Tourette’s cause, but just wanted to sympathise,. We’re just starting along the road of investigations into my 10 year old son’s tics. (We spoke to our Gp last week, and are waiting for an appointment at Alder Hey hospital). We were prompted into action as he came back from a friends house with a neck in spasm due to trying to prevent the tics.
Is there any medication that your GP could prescribe in the short term to help you. I know from your previous posts you have had some changes in your living arrangements. Maybe it’s all catching up with you?

Thanks guys,

I’m going to phone the gp on Monday just in case there’s anything they can do.

I hope your appointment comes through soon goofy.

When I first got referred (in May) I checked the wait times and it was 22 weeks and that was without COVID.

It is worth giving the doctors a ring, just to have a chat and let them know how you are feeling. Maybe they can push for you to get a cancellation appointment or similar. Big hugs xx
