Is MIA as bad as people say?!
Hi all
I was hoping to book Heathrow to Miami for August 2022 but keep hearing awful reports about MIA. Is really THAT bad?! Long queues at immigration with no toilets available? Surely that can’t be right? I have bad anxiety and this would be make or break for me! If you have used MIA, what are your honest thoughts? Thank you in advance |

We've flown in and out of MIA a few times and never had any bad experiences that would put me off.

We flew in and out of Miami last time we went and had no problems at all, were through immigration fairly quickly.
I suppose it depends how many planes land at the same time though. No problems flying back either. Louise

It wasn't much fun when you had to get a shuttle to the car hire centre, but since that changed it's fine. I'd say no better and no worse than pretty much any other airport.
I'd certainly not be put off booking there again. |

I have never had snags at MIA, arriving or leaving.

We also flew to and from Miami in 2019 and had no problems whatsoever. I really liked Miami (beach) too so worth a quick visit if you have time!

So I always fly into Miami unless staying at Disney (Magic Express meant it was easier to do direct). It used to be bad like 99% of the time but in 2018/19 it was a breeze. Travelled through it 4/5 times in this period and didn't have any problems. Travelled once through Orlando and was waiting for an hour for luggage so Miami has definitely got better.

Never had any trouble at MIA, three or four return trips in total.

personally i think mia is better than mco for immigration lines etc, we tend to have found we easily save an hour or two getting through and sort of knock this off the drive up to orlando plus its generally been cheaper flying into miami unless weve found a really good deal on flights into orlando!
