Disney kids menu age restriction

Just wondered what everyone's experience of table service restaurants at Disney are in regards to ordering on the kids menu now that there isn't the option of dining plan.

If i make a dining reservation for 2 adults, 11 and 8 year old. Would they insist i pay for the adult price for my 11 year old even though she would prefer the options on the kids menu?

I dont think it matters unless it is a buffet meal, which is fixed price.

Quick service - yes feel free to order kids meals for adults

Table service - usually a no and it’s enforced. The server usually wants a big tip and this comes from higher priced meals.

At age 11 you maybe able to get away with it

I’m fairly sure table service kids meals are designed for those 9 and under too

Thanks both she eats like a sparrow i don't mind tipping like an adult but our table service would be limited if she eats from the adult menu as she isn't keen on many sauces and prefers plain food

We last went in 2019 - my kids were 13 & 11, and they ordered off the kids menu every time. No one commented or tried to make us order from the adult menu. We didn't do any buffets then, but everywhere else was fine. Same in 2018. Never been an issue for us.

There is absolutely no obligation to buy an adults meal. No one will bay an eye. Even adults have been known to order kids meals.

Buffets and set menus are different where you pay by age.

Thank you that makes me feel better as she just won't eat them.

I assume the set menus are things like cinderellas royal table or storybook dining as examples?

anywhere with a fixed price will make you pay the adult price.

Anywhere with an al a Carte menu, you can order anything you like off the menu. You can share meals. Order a kids meal. Just have a starter instead of a main. When our kids were little we often ordered a starter or a side dish instead of a main course.

A friend's daughter ended up with plain pasta at Citrico's when she was at least 11. The waiter was extremely helpful and didn't make her feel bad at all.

My own daughter is 15 in 3 weeks and still orders off the kids menu sometimes.
