Ride photo downloads now included with Genie+

Probably not particularly great news for those of us with UK tickets that already include Memory Maker, but for the rest…

Disney has just announced that guests purchasing Disney Genie+ service will also receive digital downloads of their Disney PhotoPass ride photos, taken in the park on the day of their purchase, at no additional charge.

disneyparks.disney.go/bl...o-your-visits/

There are also two other changes mentioned on that page: annual pass holders will be able to visit the theme parks after 2pm without needing a park reservation (except on Saturdays and Sundays at Magic Kingdom) *and* free parking at the hotels, which is covered elsewhere.

Yes, quite a few bits of news today. Those three changes mentioned above, the opening date of Tron, plus the date when Harmonius changes back to HEA. Perhaps one or two others I’ve missed.

Little steps but definitely in the right direction.

Having said that, the 3 changes mentioned in the link I posted are actually bad news for me. I personally will not benefit from any of them, however they may attract additional guests and mean more people might buy Genie+ to get the ride photos whilst booking some rides in the process, a few more Annual Passholders might visit the parks after 2pm, and maybe more people will choose to stay onsite. In turn, that could mean slightly less Genie+ slot availability for me, busier parks in the afternoon when I'm there, and busier onsite hotels including POFQ where we're staying.

But potentially good news for others.

Agreed, it probably doesn't benefit most UK visitors, and encourages more people to buy Genie+

Yes as pointed out, zero benefit to the vast majority of UK guests.

It was included with Genie+ in California, thats the reason I bought it as I would get the photos with it :-)

Does anyone think they'll remove it from UK tickets in the future to encourage more people to buy Genie+?

Who knows, it is not the same as memory maker though as this is only on ride photos, and obviously not everyone will purchase genie+ (and certainly not every day). So it would certainly be a downgrade for the UK ticket if they did remove it.

It also makes me wonder if it will just make genie+ price go up more. California was always around $5 more because of the photopass.
