How much time do you have off and what are your plans?

I have a whole 10 days off this year and I cannot wait!

DH has put in his request for the time off in between Christmas and new year too so hopefully we can spend some real quality time together.

We will spend Christmas Eve, day and Boxing Day with my family (parents, brother and brother in law), then after that just the two of us and our dog.

I’m thinking at least one duvet day watching Christmas movies and eating Christmas chocolates etc, maybe a drive out somewhere local for a nice dog walk.

Would love to hear how much time you have off and what your plans are!

I break up on Thursday 21st and go back on Monday 8th. I worked in retail for years, so it's nice that I can have time off over Christmas and New Year now. My husband is a teacher so he's off too.

Friday 22nd is Christmas prep and I'm off to the hair dressers for a cut and colour in the afternoon.
Saturday 23rd is our big family meal at a local pub in the afternoon.
Sunday 24th is a manicure and pedicure first thing and turkey, chips and beans for tea. Christmas films and champagne before bed.
Monday 25th. Christmas Day Dinner at mum and dad's. My one sister and her family will be there too. My other sister is at her in-laws this year.
Tuesday 26th is last minute packing and travel to Heathrow in the afternoon.
Wednesday 27th we travel to Orlando for 9 night

I love Christmas and I'm excited for this year as it's a good balance of family and holiday.

I’m off Christmas Eve Christmas Day and Boxing Day.
I got my rota for Christmas week yesterday and I’ve got 50 hours then back in on the 27th.

Next Christmas will be my last working Christmas as I’ll be retiring a few months later 😀

We are still waiting for our Christmas Rotas but I only work 25 hours now. I know I’m off Christmas Eve for a change as I opted out on Sundays. I’m also off Christmas and Boxing Day, New Year’s Day.
I’m also taking early retirement so 2025 will be my last.

i finish on the 28th of november as off to florida for 2 weeks should be back at work on the 18th december for a week but have an operation that day so not back in work until the 5th of january at the earliest x

Finishing 22nd and back 3rd! Goin to Newcastle lights on 22nd, then xmas eve be dinner prep then cinema trip, back home party tea and drinks. Xmas day my family come over. 30th we seeing Elf the Musical.

This is a first for me but I will not be working from 23rd until 2nd very briefly and then nothing until 8th Jan!
I don’t think I’ve ever been able to take more than the bank holidays plus an odd day here and there so I am really excited!
Not sure of plans at the mo. It’s likely to just be us on the day then family visits dotted around plus a party with friends.
DS is back fairly early but when I asked him about his commitments last night he seems to have 5 rehearsal dates and 2 performances all in London so I’m not sure how well we’re going to be able to synchronise diaries!
I hadn’t booked Panto as I assumed DS would try to pick up shifts in the local pub that I’d need to work around but that seems unlikely now he won’t be able to be remotely flexible 🤦🏼
The usual tree decorating weekend is out now so I need to consider options 🤔

I'm happy that I got Xmas day and Boxing day off, got New York and Boston trips in the run up to Christmas for my shopping, then Africa afterwards so a bit of sunshine for me - very happy bunny

I don’t work as I am a full time career for my partner. I used to work I work over Christmas I work Christmas Eve Christmas Day Boxing Day New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day but know we just be doing what we do every year for past 10 years we see family a few days before then it be just us over Christmas and new year.
