Festive Fun at Disneyland Paris: Day 2 – Bistrot Chez Rémy & Mickey’s Dazzling Christmas Parade
Sunday 26th November 2023
After an interrupted night’s sleep - Caleb woke us up at 2am - I was up at about 6:30am and heading down the hall to get morning coffees. Jo and I had our coffee then Jo showered and we both got ready. We got the children up and ready and headed off to the Cantina restaurant for a buffet breakfast. It was about 7:30am and there was quite a queue for breakfast and an even longer queue for the hotel luggage store - looks like today was going to be another busy day in the parks. ![]() ![]() Breakfast time We got more coffee and some milk for the kids and then we all helped ourselves to the buffet. The food was really nice and was a mixture of hot food - eggs, sausages, bacon, beans, Mickey Waffles etc. - and pastries, meats, cheese, yoghurts, cereals etc. Because we’re used to eating breakfast a lot later at home we only managed a couple of small plates each before we were ready to go. We also wanted to get a move on and get to the parks ASAP! We stopped by the room to pick up the pram and the changing bag and then we were on our way along the river to the parks. It was another cold day in Paris and we all had our hats and gloves on - although it was proving to be a struggle to get Caleb to keep his on! As we were Disney hotel guests we were able to take advantage of today’s Extra Magic Time from 8-9am. We arrived at Disneyland Park at about 8:30am and headed to the right hand side of the main entrance where the Extra Magic Time entrances were; by 8:45am we were strolling down Main Street. We decided to head to it’s a small world only to find that it didn’t open till 9am along with the regular park opening! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() A fairly quiet Main Street ![]() It’s (not) a small world We left Fantasyland and made our way to Discoveryland with the intention of riding Buzz Lightyear Laser Blast but after trying to get there via the castle we found that the bridge into that land was closed because it was icy - we could see where they’d put down some salt to try to defrost it. By this time it was 9am so we decided to head back to it’s small world only to find there was a technical error so it wouldn’t be opening yet! ![]() It’s (still not) a small world Frustrated with all that back and forth we decided to ride the first thing we could find which happened to be Blanche-Neige et les Sept Nains (Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs). Following this, Caleb wanted to ride Le Carrousel de Lancelot. Jo and Isabella rode their own horses and I stood next to Caleb while he rode one too. After the carousel we rode Les Voyages de Pinocchio and then finally got to ride it’s a small world. ![]() Blanche-Neige et les Sept Nains ![]() Carouselfie ![]() Look, no strings ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() It’s a small world (at last) Caleb thoroughly enjoyed all these rides, especially it’s a small world, which I think is a better version than the Magic Kingdom one - we didn’t get to ride in California as it was shut. We were done with Fantasyland for now so we headed over to Adventureland and rode Pirates of the Caribbean and then Phantom Manor - both great versions of these rides. Caleb enjoyed seeing the ‘laughing man’ again, although he didn’t enjoy getting back in the pram and was being very difficult. He also wouldn’t keep his gloves on and consequently his hands were cold, which upset him - very frustrating! ![]() ![]() Yo ho, yo ho… ![]() Home of the Laughing Man (aka The Phantom) ![]() Having a great time

After doing lots of rides in fairly quick succession we wandered back to Main Street and headed into Liberty Arcade and then into the shops.
Caleb picked up a stuffed Rex (from Toy Story) so we bought it for him - he loves a stuffed toy! ![]() ![]() Chip ‘n’ Dale were meeting at the entrance/exit to Liberty Arcade ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Liberty Arcade ![]() Caleb & Rex After almost three hours we headed over to Walt Disney Studios Park for our 11:45am lunch reservation in Bistrot Chez Rémy. We checked in and were immediately shown to our table. The theming in here is great; the idea being that once you enter the restaurant you are a rat and everything is oversized to make you feel like you are that size. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Bistrot Chez Rémy Jo and I ordered the 3 course Emile menu and decided to go for the wine pairings with our meal which meant paying extra on top of using our meal plan credits. We ordered the following: Me: Duck with Thyme Flower and Pistachio Pâté en Croûte, Fig Jam / Grilled Steak, Ratatouille and French Fries with Meaux Mustard and Tarragon sauce / Bistrot Delight Jo: Seasonal Soup (Pumpkin) with The Laughing Cow cheese and Mixed Herbs / Grilled Steak, Ratatouille and French Fries with Béarnaise sauce / Bistrot Delight ![]() Duck with Thyme Flower and Pistachio Pâté en Croûte ![]() Seasonal Soup ![]() Steak ![]() ![]() Bistrot Delight Isabella had the Little Chef Menu and ordered the following: Chicken Rillettes with Toast / Linguine Pasta with Tomato Sauce and Ratatouille / Rémy’s Chocolate and Hazelnut Eclair Caleb shared with all of us but mostly ate bread and chips. ![]() Chicken Rillettes ![]() Linguine Pasta & Ratatouille ![]() Eclair ![]() Bread

All of the food was amazing and we all enjoyed everything that we ordered. Jo and I also very much enjoyed the wine pairings!
At one point the waiter went off to get Caleb some more bread and he started calling “Maaaan, where are you?” - it was funny. After our delicious lunch we decided to head back to Disneyland park and hopefully get Caleb to nap in the pram. Isabella wanted to ride Star Wars Hyperspace Mountain so Jo took her while I wandered around the hub enjoying the Christmas Carol instrumentals that were playing. Caleb eventually fell asleep. Jo and Isabella returned and we headed to Frontierland. Caleb woke up on the way - I think he had about 45 mins. Isabella explored the Frontierland Playground and then her and Caleb played with the full size cannon; not sure what I’d done to upset him but I was getting the ‘pew pew’ treatment! ![]() ![]() Star Wars Hyperspace Mountain ![]() Pew pew Daddy! ![]() Next up was a visit to Adventureland where we sailed aboard Le Pays des Contes de Fées (Storybook Land Canal Boats). It’s different to the Disneyland California version in that it does not have a guide to narrate as you journey past the miniature settings. ![]() ![]() Entering Adventureland ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Le Pays des Contes de Fées Next to the canal boat attraction is Casey Jr. - le Petit Train du Cirque. It’s designed as a roller coaster for small children through Storybook Land, and offers different views of some of the scenes not as visible from the canal boats. Following our journeys around Storybook Land we decided to head over to the Discoveryland Theatre to watch Mickey's PhilharMagic. Caleb loved this, although he did get scared a couple of times. It was now time to get some dinner and we went back to Fantasyland to get pizzas from Pizzeria Bella Notte. We beat the rush and got our pizza and a table quickly. Jo and I both got a Mickey Pizza - one four cheese, one pepperoni plus garlic bread and San Pellegrino. Isabella got a Kid’s Mickey’s Pizza with tomatoes. Caleb shared with us - he ate the ears! We also got desserts. We noticed that crowds were beginning to gather outside in anticipation for Mickey’s Dazzling Christmas Parade. We finished up and joined the crowd outside, securing a decent position close to where the parade started right outside the restaurant. The parade was really good and Caleb loved it - we all did. Once it passed we followed it and then headed back into Discoveryland where we went on Buzz Lightyear Laser Blast. Caleb had been looking forward to this one - we’d been talking about it in the weeks leading up to it! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Pizzeria Bella Notte ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Mickey’s Dazzling Christmas Parade ![]() Pew pew Buzz! Once we’d done ‘pew pew’ Buzz (as we’d been calling it) we decided to go into Walt Disney Studios Park. We headed Main Street and then to the exit via the Discovery Arcade. Once inside the Studios Park we made our way to Avengers Campus hoping to ride Spider-Man W.E.B. Adventure but unfortunately the queue was too long. While Caleb and I browsed the shop, Isabella and Jo decided to ride Avengers Assemble: Flight Force but as they were in the queue it broke down. We regrouped and decided to ride Ratatouille: The Adventure, and then followed that up with a Mulled Wine from one of the L'Hiver Gourmand stalls in the Place de Rémy area. ![]() Enjoying a mulled wine It was now time to call it a day, so we exited the park and walked back along the river to Hotel Santa Fe, accompanied by Caleb singing his little songs! Back at our room we let him play for a little bit while Isabella showered and I got us hot chocolates again. Caleb had his bath and went to bed at about 8pm. Jo and I showered and went to bed at about 10:30pm after catching up with my notes. Another fun filled day over! TFR ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

I applaud your determination to get on It's a Small World... I would be the same, it's a must-do for me!
Oh Caleb and the gloves... a scenario I relate to 100%! (Cody also refuses to wear a hat so we have double whammy when it's cold!) So many gorgeous photos, the parade looked fantastic! |
