Sapphire Falls/Royal Pacific Resort

Hi All. We are booked to return to Florida 11-26 August
Staying at Vista Cay for 6 nights and have a week set aside for Universal Hotel. Provisionally booked Sapphire Falls for 7 night with Travel Republic, £20 deposit, as we enjoyed 3 nights there earlier this year. I can see that RPR is £650 more expensive for 7 nights. Just wondered from peoples experience of both hotels would they go for the RPR option, given you get free fast passes.

Absolutely go for RPR for that price, Saphire Falls is lovely but RPR has something special about it in my opinion, have stayed about ten times, often for two weeks, it’s just so peaceful and beautiful. Express passes are awesome, even when it’s not busy!

For that price yes. Maybe check there’s no refurbishments planned. I read on another thread a rumour that RPR might be refurb after PB

Unless you think you need the fotl pass i would save the money, we stayed at sapphire falls in august and had 1 night booked at RP and much preferred sapphire falls, the RP pool was overcrowded and we thought the corridors we like walking into the tower of terror , our room was bery tatty around the edges, i know a lot of people love the RP but it just didnt conpare with SF !

Not many people need an express pass, I think the question is more do you want one. In August heat and humidity, I would want one as I would rather spare myself a few hours standing in queues. So yes would definitely pay £650 more and go to RPR.

Thank you for your comments , they are appreciated. We have a 12yo and 9yo so the pool is kind of important as they like to chill in the pool as well as being in the parks. We liked the pool set up at SF and while the Fast Passes are a good perk it would be a shame if the RPR pool isn't as good. I also guess that when staying for 1 night to take advantage of passes the Hotel isn't that important but if staying for 7 nights it becomes more of a factor.
This may be a silly question but given the hotels are in the same group do you have the option to access the other pools? I know from last year access is by pass but just wondered if it was possible.

I am not interested in going to the pools in Orlando so this is not personal experience, but I understood pool hopping was allowed at Universal hotels.

Yes, pool hopping is allowed.

We have stayed at both and we both prefer Sapphire Falls and would definitely pick there. Having said that, we go in September and while express passes might be nice we really don't feel we need them.

As others have said our room (and more noticeably the corridors) did feel a bit tired in RP. Although I'm sure they get banged by many many suitcases, we did see the corridors being touched up while we were in SF last month.

Not a silly question, yes you can pool hop from Sapphire Falls to RPR. We stayed for a week Club Level RPR (we have stayed here multiple times) and I have to say it is one of our favourite Hotels. Sapphire Falls is lovely too and we enjoyed visiting there on our last trip.

I did a dining report with pics from RPR and Sapphire Falls that you might find helpful.

You should also take a look at the Dining Report by LemonSpritz, they had a great stay at Sapphire Falls recently too.
