Just Me and My Girl - The Food Report Oct 12

We got back on saturday after our much anticipated trip. I wasnt going to do a food report but it appears I managed to take 155 photos of the food we ate and after my Mum questioned my sanity I told her I know some people who WILL appreciate the photos!

We (thats me Tanya 43 and my DD, Connie, age 5) stayed at Port Orleans French Quarter from 19 Oct to 2 Nov with the free Quick Service Dining Plan.

So sit back and enjoy... we did for most of it!

Day 0 - Giraffe at Gatwick
Day 1 - Travel Day No1 Lounge,Flight and Sassagoula
Day 2 - Columbia Harbour House and Riverside Mill
Day 3 - Sunshine Seasons and Sassagoula
Day 4 - Harambe and Cosmic Rays
Day 5 - Writers Stop, Pizza Planet and Wolfgang Puck Express
Day 6 - Sassagoula, Pecos Bills and Plaza Icecream Parlour
Day 7 - F&W Festival, Boulangerie Patisserie, Lotus Blossom Cafe and Sassagoula again
Day 8 - The one with breakfast, brunch, tea and supper
Day 9 - Crystal Palace, Lottawatta Lodge and Plaza Icecream Parlour
Day 10 - Sassagoula, Earl of Sandwich and Cattalina Eddies
Day 11 - Yak and Yeti Counter and More Food & Wine Festival
Day 12 - Earl of Sandwich, Goofys Candy Store, Pecos Bills and a Few MNSSHP treats!
Day 13 - POFQ, Snacks and POR
Day 14 - POFQ, Columbia Harbour House & Tomorrowland Terrace Dessert Party
Day 15 - The Last Day

Day 0 - the start of the holiday

We had Dinner at Giraffe, landside at Gatwick South. My Dad joined us.

Connie had Crispy Chicken Breast Strips with Chips and corn on the cob (still in the UK they aren't called fries yet!)



As you can see for a childs portion it was huge but Connie put a sizeable dent in it only leaving a few chips and one strip. I tried the chicken it was still juicy and very crispy crumbed.

Both my Dad and I went for the Full Rack of Baby Back Ribs with Chips (not fries!) Coleslaw and I also ordered us a side of onion rings we all had a couple of those each including Connie.



The ribs were cooked really well the meat fell off the bone, if I had one fault it would be that there wasnt quite enough bbq sauce for my liking. The chips were just ordinary nothing to write home about but the coleslaw was delicious very refreshing more of a vinegar dressing than the normal mayonaise type and the added taste of poppy seeds to give even more flavour, lovely.

Only Connie could manage dessert and she was very happy to see that Giraffe have her favourite dessert on the kids menu, Profiteroles!



Another huge portion for a child actually it would be large even for an adult! Connie managed all of them except one which I had to try obviously for research purposes they were ok but Connie said they were delicious!

Trip report will be along in a couple of weeks, I have edited all my 1500 photos and ordered my photopass cd which has 600+ on so waiting on that to arrive before I set to on the trippie.

We had a really good time and although it went quickly it also seems like we have been away ages too, if you know what I mean!

Great to hear you had a good holiday. Looking forward to the trippie .
We liked Giraffe, can't remember the portions being big but your portions look huge .
