Naples Vacationtastic - Day 15- Driving To Miami

So last day, and we had to be out of the villa at 10, and our flight was not until 9pm, so we had a slow drive along the Tamiami Trail (meaning "Tampa to Miami") rather than bombing along the I-75 for a bit of interest. There were lots of little nature stops on the way and at one of them we met this chap!

He was 10-11ft and really watching all the people on the boardwalk viewing platform. Then we became aware that about 50ft behind him was his laydee friend. We were cautious in our viewing, but I got some good photos, although I was petrified that I would drop my phone in!

We had a nice drive to Miami, but that's when it all went wrong. What a nightmare! Dad was driving and I was working from the free Alamo map that you get, which is so cheap to produce they only put about a third of the roads on it! We needed to locate somewhere for lunch and eventually we did, after driving around the main roads for about an hour to get to the mall where we thought we may find some food!
There was bad tempers, shouting and threats of people getting out at the next set of lights... Eventually we got to a chilli's which was enough to fill us up before embarking on another 40min tour of rediculous roads before getting to the airport.
I hate Miami airport even more now. I didn't think that was possible.
We did check in at 5 and headed to he club America lounge where i had a very large grey goose and cranberry.

We brought Cheetos home too.

Only said the other day that it must be horrible negotiating Miami without a sat nav, no wonder tempers were frayed. Fort Myers airport rsw is a much more pleasant experience! Thanks for sharing.
