Beach Club Getaway - Day 12 - Islands of Adventure And Universal Studios

Again with no free wifi in the parks I am forced to post this back at the Beach Club.

We decided as it is quiet we would do both parks in one day and managed it just fine. We didn't really need the front of line passes staying in the hotel gave us but the early entry into the Harry Potter area meant we could do two walk on rides on forbidden journey first thing.

I was impressed with the whole area. A lot of time and money has been put into this area. A lot more than the average attraction.

This was our first time visiting since it was opened.

The inside of the castle can be just a walk though if you don't want to ride. Just tell the attendant and they will let you into a separate channel.

The outside facade of the castle is very impressive.

Don't forget to look into the windows of the shops. There are some things that will surprise you.

The Hogwarts express greats you as you enter Hogsmead.

You can go into the sweet shop. Though the prices are a little high.

There are a few things you might not notice at first around the village.

After two goes on Dragon Challenge we went on to Jurassic Park. It was a bit wet

We skipped the other water rides. Didn't fancy getting this wet first thing in the morning.

Spider-Man has been updated with the new digital projection since our last visit too. The images are a lot better. We really like this ride.

No one wanted to do Doctor Doom. So we went on Hulk. A great coaster. Love the initial shooting off.

After this we went into Universal.

Now we were really looking forward to Rip Ride Rocket. We got into the car. Chose our music and it then broke down. We were asked to get out the car and wait. But it never got going again all day. Shame.

So we then went into Transformers. Another new ride for us. Whilst I did like this I did feel it was just Spider-Man with a different film. Even the ride programming seemed almost identical. Worth a visit if you know the films. If you don't then you might not really get all the scenes in it.

After lunch we demanded the girls had photos with Dora and Diago. It is their little cousins favourite show. So it was a must do photo moment to send to her.

Onto the new Simpsons area. This was really well done. I think Universal have really upped their game now with the theming.

Inside Moe's Tavern

Barney by the bar.

The new kiddie twirler.

Then we went into the main Simpsons ride.

You can see the work on the new Harry Potter area where Jaws used to be.

We then went on MIB three times, DW won every time, in fact no one has ever beaten her on this ride. Then we went on the Mummy, Shrek, Despicable Me and ET before going back home to the Beach Club.

Fab photos. I hope Hogsmeade is that empty when we go - doubt it though as we won't have early access. The weather's looking mighty fine too!

The Harry Potter area is just stunning! Although when we went, it was wall to wall people so it was hard to get a good look. It looks like you choose a great day to visit.

Yes loved it. Certainly the best ride in the resort.

We got into Hogsmeade at 8am and left the area at 9am. This is when the park opened to regular guests. So I don't know how busy it was after that. But the rest of the park was walk on all day and Universal was too as you can see from the Simpsons area.

It was a bit of a joke using the express pass lanes as they saved no time as no one was queuing anyway.
