Disney Magic Med Cruise - July 2014 - Day 2 Embarkation Day

Up early from the hotel to drag our bags back to Piazzale Roma. We then got the people mover to take us on the short trip to the port. Getting off the people mover there was a courtesy coach to take you to the check in. It wasn't far though if you wanted to walk.

Getting off the coach we were greeted by the sight of Goofy finishing off the paintwork.

They took your bags off you and put the into the X-ray machines. This is the last time you see your bags until they arrive outside your room later that evening.

Check in was easy. We then had to wait until our number was called to board the ship.

Your first view of the interior of the ship is the main atrium on deck 3. Where you are welcomed aboard by family name and they all clap. A bit OTT for us reserved British

Straight to Cabanas for lunch.

A fantastic array of food for us to try. Of course I decided I wanted it all

Including seafood.

And a great choice of desserts.

It was then time to find our rooms on deck 7. We had 2 rooms next to each other. 7525 and 7523.

The rooms were inside state rooms. Very nicely presented. They could sleep 3 but we would not have had the storage room for the clothes.

Just a single bathroom in this category.

Time to explore the ship before the deck party and departure. This is the promenade lounge on deck 3.

Fathoms night club on deck 4. This is an adults only area in the evenings.

And O'Gills Irish pub nearby.

Up onto deck 9. The main pool deck. This is the adults only pool with it's two hot tubs.

The forward section of deck 10 has the sports area. With a basketball court and table tennis.

The bow of the ship has a small pool and deck area for the crew to use. There is no guest access to this area.

The main family pool on deck 9 has the 'Funnel View' big screen. You can also see the new Aquadunk slide which can be accessed from here or deck 10.

The rear funnel is the actual working one. The forward funnel contains Vibe, the teens hangout place. Also the Aquadunk is accessed by climbing stairs to deck 11.

The rear funnel has access to the 'Twist and Spout' kids slide.

Time for the deck party just before we leave Venice.

As we sailed out we passed St Marks Square..

Still plenty of tourists taking photos of the 'Bridge of Sighs'

As we were a little late leaving Venice it was a bit of a rush to get to dinner at 6:15 for our scheduled time. The girls had all left me on deck taking photos while they got ready. I just went straight from the deck to the restaurant.

Our first rotation was 'Animators Palate'.

The girls had freshened up while I looked like the usual hot and bothered mess

I had a salad to start.

Black Truffle Pasta Purseittes for DW.

Sliced Serrano Ham for DD's

Pennete Bolognese.

Light note offering of Sirloin Steak.

Seared Red Snapper.

The ambiance of the restaurant then changed from its black and white drawings into full colour.

With the waiters changing their monochrome waistcoats into coloured ones and performed a small show entrance along with Mickey.

Time for desserts.

Cookies and Cream Sundae.

White Chocolate Fudge Cheesecake with whipped cream and raspberry coulis.

Sweet Temptations. A trio of white chocolate cheesecake, lemon raspberry tart and chilled mango mouse.

Back to the room to find the first towel animal and tomorrow's navigator.

Time to put the door magnets on.

As the cruise was for Lauren's graduation she had a suitable theme. Along with their names and silhouettes of Anna and Elsa of course.

A bit more exploring before retiring for the night. It was a long but fun day. Up early tomorrow for a tour 'Art of the Theme Show'.

Another brilliant report. . . My god the food looks out of this world.
The facilities on the ship look amazing, we've gone as far as looking at brochures but that's about it, hoping more great trip reports over next few days I have hard evidence to present to OH about Disney cruise possibility so keep up the good work lol and happy holidays
