Easter 2015. Lots of food *MAINLY OFF-SITE* No snappy title! *COMPLETE!*

Right Dibbers, I've been meaning to start this for yonks but it takes ages to just upload the pics to Photobucket.
I take my hat off to all you trip report crafters, I really do

So it's just me, OH and DS (11)

This is our second trip as a family although both OH and I went as children and teens.

We all like to eat so here's pretty much everything we got through in the 3 weeks we were there. No dining plan so it's almost all offsite.

We flew from Heathrow at 07:30 so stayed at the Premier Inn Bath Road the night before.
We had a couple of drinks to get into the swing of things

and a meal in Thyme which was just yucky but we won't dwell on that.

** Not sure on drinks but our meal was £46**

Breakfast on the plane was the weirdest waffle I've ever eaten with floppy back bacon. No, just no.
Anyway it's not as if we expected that to be nice.

Fairly sure the only other food was a turkey panini.
I didn't eat that but the others did.

Landed on time at Washington but our connection was delayed.
Food vouchers all round so we trotted off to 5 Guys on the people eater

This was very nice.
I had a BLT and OH and DS had bacon cheese burgers

**courtesy of United due to delay **

By the time we arrived at MCO, unpacked and popped out to Walmart it was pretty late so we admitted defeat ready for the morning.

After hasty bowl of cereal chez Rosen we dashed off to Animal Kingdom. (We're never awake early on the 1st morning. Surely we're not alone?)

I really wanted a jalapeño pretzel mid morning. DS went and asked a CM where to get one and was told they didn't do them
I knew this was a load of tosh because I'm a Dibber so with 2 whinge bags in tow I set off to find one. "Mum, I think the staff probably know more than you" was pretty much all I could hear being muttered.

Anyway, I found them and they were sorry to have doubted me. They weren't at all but it was love at first bite for them!

** we think these were $5 inc tax**

DS was hungry at lunchtime so he decided in honey chicken I think?
This was pretty good for CS and enormous. OH and I had a couple of bites but it was a bit hot to eat so just drinks for us.

**$9.99**

I know we definitely had 2 of these

** $3.75 each **

And one of these

**$4.00**

(but these aren't my pics)

Right, the idea after AK was to eat at Yellow Dogs...
We got lost and gave in.
We ended up
At The Cheesecake Factory Instead.
After our lengthy tour around the #### end of Orlando we were pretty hungry so this is all I can offer you of our spinach and artichoke dip

Ta dah!

**$11.95**

We devoured it in no time along with the lovely rye bread.

For mains I'm going to have to have a hand from google images.
I had bang bang chicken and shrimp

**$17.95**

It really did look look like the picture and was absolutely delicious. Obviously anyone who's been will know this was served on a turkey platter so I probably managed 1/4 of it!

DS had this pasta.
Chicken, balsamic onions, peppers and some sort of creamy sauce.

**$16.95**

He said it was very nice. I never order pasta out. I think it's a waste of a meal out. Anyway, he liked it and made a reasonable dent in it.

From memory OH had this unbelievably gigantic burrito

**$13.95**

He said it was ok but not what he wanted!

OH is a nightmare in restaurants. He can look at a menu for half an hour, order, then as soon as the waiter or waitress has gone he says "oh, I didn't want that!"
Every time!

Anyway, it was all good. We've always enjoyed the food here and had good service. No room for pudding so we made our way back to the hotel.

Breakfast in our room again before hot footing it to HS for the day.
Nothing worth photographing. We've all seen Cheerios floating in milk before.

Mid morning snacks were coffees, smoothies and some cakes

A carrot cake cookie for OH and I to share

**$3.99**

And this Mickey brownie type thing for DS (dreadful pic, sorry)

**$3.99**

I'm pretty sure the carrot cake cookie is just cake trimmings sandwiched together?
Anyway, it was insanely sweet. We quite liked it but wouldn't bother again.
DS said his brownie thing was a bit dry but he ate it all.

DS fancied a corn dog for lunch.

I don't have a photo so have borrowed this one. I'm fairly sure it was much shorter and a bit fatter but you get the idea!

**$4.29**

I'd rather eat my own eyeballs but he said it was nice!
OH and I wanted to go to Starring Rolls but it was shut by the time we got there.
We had 2 of these instead

**$3.99 each**

I absolutely love frozen lemonade. It's just perfect on a hot day.
I absolutely love a frozen piña colada more though so I had one of those too

**$7.50?**

We decided to stop off at Giordano's on the way back.
Big mistake! Downtown Disney is best avoided early evening so we were stuck in traffic for well over an hour.

We ordered immediately as we knew we were having the huge stuffed pizza.
Actually it's just a medium and we managed 4 slices between 3!

Before the main event we shared a bruscetta and a Caesar salad

**$7.50 for the salad as I think it was an entree size**

** free bruscetta for joining the email club but usually $7.95**

Too much dressing on the salad. We'd forgotten to ask for it on the side. Otherwise both were pretty good.

And here's the stuffed BBQ chicken pizza

**$27.75**

You have to wait 45 minutes for this but we knew that beforehand. Had we not have been in traffic it would have been a more relaxed wait! We were starving!
No room for pudding and we took the rest of the pizza back to the hotel.

Today we were off to Epcot.
I'd booked a Kitchen Sink for around 3pm and it was also the Garden & Food Festival so
just fruit salad for breakfast, again in our room.

Which looked a bit like this...

For the record, you can buy a much nicer one in Publix but this was ok.

I can't remember much about the morning. I did introduce them to Beverly though

I'm amazed they went for it. I'm a useless practical joker. Absolutely rubbish!
With huge tears in my eyes and through giggles I told them it was "lovely" and they still tried it! OH called me a jerk afterwards! It's truly vile. Do the Italians really like it?!

Onto Soarin!

After which we had a toilet stop.
This was when I noticed a message on my phone from OH's stepsister with the terrible news that his dad had passed away. Whilst this wasn't out of the blue, it was still a shock.
I really didn't know what to do. I knew we'd not be telling DS but I obviously needed to tell OH. I sort of gathered myself together and went to find them both.
I sent DS off to buy some drinks. I pointed to the place with the longest queue and had to break the news to OH.
He had a little wobble but was amazing. Asked me a few things about how it had happened, took a deep breath and said "right, drink"
DS came running around the corner at this point with 3 bottles of water so seemed a little perplexed by this suggestion.

We wandered over to France, set DS up with an Agent P Challenge, told him not to leave France and gave him strict instructions of where we'd be.
He was absolutely delighted to be afforded this level of freedom so off he went feeling very grown up!

We bought 2 slushies.
1 Grey Goose and 1 Grand Marnier, sat on a wall in the sun and made a toast.
That really was that. (until we got home) OH's dad had been very clear that if the worst happened we were not to come home.

I won't post the photo of us making our toast because it was a personal picture sent to his step mum. OH's dad liked a drink so it was a fitting tribute.
However, they are delicious so for those of you who haven't seen or had one, you absolutely must.
Here they are!

**$9.95 each**

We had a few

Anyway, onwards and upwards.

A very smiley DS appeared waving a massive ice cream he'd bought for himself and the phone from his challenge.
He'd really enjoyed hunting for Perry so we all went off to do another one together.

*If you haven't done this before I'd really recommend it.

He loved his ice cream which came from the place next to Monsieur Paul. L'artisan des Glaces? (Clearly the kitchen sink wasn't going to be enough ice cream for one day?!)
It looked a bit like this one. It was salted caramel from memory

**$3.99 for 1 scoop, $6.10 for 2**

DS was a bit hungry before it was time for The Sink so he chose this snack from one of the food stalls.

Pineapple Dog – Spicy Hot Dog with Pineapple Chutney and Sriracha Mayo

**$4.00**

He loved this. Particularly with the crunch from the pineapple bits on top

Right, the moment we'd been waiting for...
The Kitchen Sink!

For those of you who haven't done this, it's a silly amount of stuff in a bucket. Mainly ice cream but also huge chunks of cake, biscuits, some fruit and a lot of toppings!

People often mention sirens on here but we didn't experience that. Just flashing lights and the announcement by the server to everyone else that you're basically a very greedy bunch!

**$28.99**

As you can see, between 3 we did an embarrassingly good job of it!

It's a fun thing to do and we enjoyed the spectacle of it. However, it's not the best ice cream or the best cake and it is squirty cream so there are better sweet things available.
I'd definitely recommend it though. We all laughed and had fun which is what was needed.

Well we walked that lot off for about 4 hours and then decided we needed some savouries.

We tried something (between 3) from almost every stall.
I have found the menus so I'll do my best to name each photo.

*I'll continue in the next box because this one's becoming a pain to edit!

so, 1st up was this from Jardin de Fiestas

(Terrible pic. DS couldn't hold it still. Too much sugary ice cream!)
Flour tortilla filled with Monterey Jack Cheese and mixed veggies.

We weren't too fussed with this one. It was OK but not so good that you'd buy another.

Next stop Taste of Marrakesh

Falafel Pocket with Cucumber Tomato Salad and Tahini Sauce
Harissa Chicken Kebab.

Not bad

Next up Hanami

Teriyaki Curry Bun — Steamed bun filled with chicken, vegetables, curry and sweet sauce

This was really good

This next from Lotus House

Kung Pao Chicken Bun

This secured a spot as one of our favourites (but it's not the winner)

Somehow we were still going. We definitely weren't hungry but we still managed to try a few more offerings!

This next from The Smokehouse: Bbqs and Brews.

Beef Brisket Burnt Ends Hash with White Cheddar Fondue and Pickled Jalapeños

This was the clear winner. It might not look much but the flavour was incredible. We almost went back for a 2nd portion

Lastly we sampled this although I have no idea where it came from? It's Mexican but I can't find it on any of the food fest menus.

And that concludes our overeating for the day
