The story about how Mark got a little fatter: Travel Day

Well months of planning has come down to this.
It's 3am, there are 7 bags to load and a two hour drive to Heathrow.
Eeeeeeeek!

We're here.
Let the fun commence!

"First meal" on holiday. A cheeky little bacon and egg roll and a coffee from EAT. It's ok and doing a job as I'm hungry.
I could do with a Maccy Ds brekkie though.
Onwards and upwards.

Wife went for a porridge with berries.
As she is a nervous flyer it isn't going down to well. As I'm not a fan of "cow juice" this may go to waste, unless one of the kids steps up to the plate.

The crew!

Hannah - siobhans friend
DS2 - Tziha
Lois - siobhans friend
DS1 - Kameron

Just waiting to board now. Urghh.
Terminal 2 whilst nice and new doesn't really have much to browse.

The sun has joined turned. Staying with us for two weeks (hopefully).

So just boarded. We are on a United 777-200. The IFE is on demand and pretty good. Better than American and BA who we flew with the last two flights.

Legroom is pretty amazing for economy too. I'm 6ft and a little portly and the easily fit in the seat easily. Also the IFE has a usb charging point too! I'm impressed!

Sorry for the late round up. Bit of a long day have have been now up for 24 hours.
Right so our transatlantic leg of our United flight, as previously stated, I was pleasantly surprised. A constant stream of food and beverages and also really nice flight attendants. Above was one of the snacks handed out.

A game developed on board which involved catching people in our party asleep. This is me contemplating the next picture.

Heh! Heh! Heh!

At Newark we departed fairly quickly breezed through immigration in about 20 mins. We landed at 13.00 U.S. time. We had a 1 hour 55 min change around, which we easily made, but going back through security was an absolute joke. To say it was bedlam was an understatement! But we did make out connection with about 30 mins to spare, so for anyone doing this route it is achievable, but stressful!
Ironically them out flight to MCO was 30 mins late leaving.

The view of the Manhattan skyline as we came into land at Newark.

Once at MCO it was lovely to see this view as it meant we were nearly there - it's the sky train that takes you to the main terminal. It's so nice to be a domestic arrival once at MCO. just pick up your cases and out you go.

Picked up car hire - minivan via Alamo. With skip the counter were away in less than 5 mins in a 2016 Town and Country with 800 miles on the clock, off to our villa rental and then Walmart. Saw these at the checkout and the child in me MADE me take a photo. I did say I'm quite a manchild!
Tomorrow plans? I have no idea but is 11 pm here, I'm the last one up having a week earned glass of Rose.
See you all tomorrow.
