We have just returned from Dragonflies villa on Rotonda. Rotonda is one of our favourite places to stay having spent the last 10 plus holidays there. It was lovely to hear from Bernadette the day after our arrival who was checking to see that everything was okay. Dragonflies is a beautiful villa and is very well maintained. It was one of the best stocked villas we have ever stayed at and had everything to hand to make life easier for anybody staying there. Having stayed at many villas we always take the small extras with us to save buying them in the USA. Bin sacks, cleaning wipes, dish washer tablets, food bags, soap powder etc. the list is endless. We could have left them all at home as everything was there had we needed them. The bathroom cupboards also had lots of shampoo, conditioners etc if needed and kitchen cupboards also had lots of items if anything had been forgotten. It was a fantastic villa to stay in, the king size bed was extremely comfortable, there were lots of plates, glasses, cups towels etc. We have stayed at some villas that only leave a couple of plates, knives forks etc so that things had to be cleaned immediately. This was not a problem at Dragonflies due to number of items provided. The pool area was very big with a comfortable seating area and is not overlooked at the back like other villas are. We will definitely stay at Dragonflies again if it is available and would highly recommend it if you would like a peaceful relaxing week.

My husband and I have just returned to Scotland following our stay at Dragonflies villa.
We were returning to Florida to collect our belongings from storage following the sale of our own villa.
As villa owners we could appreciate the hard work put in by Bernie and Paul to provide an excellent villa with every requirement a guest could wish for and more. They phoned us on arrival to make sure we were happy even though they were on vacation themselves.
The villa was immaculate ,up to date, with many new appliances in the kitchen and utility area.All furniture and bedding is of a high quality. Bikes and beach equipment also provided.
The villa is in a lovely , quiet and location, perfect for a beach holiday after some hectic theme park days in Orlando. There are some great shopping malls , we loved university Mall north Sarasota an easy 40 minute drive and Regal town centre Port Charlotte 20 mins drive.
Unfortunately we will not be returning to Florida for a while as we have been 3-4 times a year for over 12 years.when we do we will be returning to Dragonflies villa.

My partner and I stayed at Dragonflies Villa earlier this year and honestly had the BEST time. It's our second time visiting and it was as perfect this time as the last.
The owners, Bernadette and Paul, could not be more accommodating and wonderful. They gave us so much information, hints and tips about the local area, we just wish we had been there longer to be able to fit in more activities! Nothing is too much trouble for them and they truly have thought of everything. Their attention to detail in the villa is exquisite.
The villa itself is equipped with anything and everything that you could possibly want or need whilst on holiday. It is maintained to an exceptionally high standard and is the cleanest villa I've ever stayed in. We used the bikes every morning and the tennis equipment to use on the Rotonda Park courts (very well maintained) which are a five minute cycle away. Our bed was huge and so comfy with gorgeous bedding and having soft carpet in the bedroom is something I appreciated having previously stayed in villas with cold hard floors throughout. (It's the small things!) The big kitchen was great for us as we ate in quite a few nights - purely because we were so comfy there we didn't feel the need to eat out a lot! We had loads of BBQs after going to Winn-Dixie's (great deals on meat and wine), Walmart or Publix all of which are literally five minutes away from the villa.
We spent hours in the amazing warm pool whilst watching some amazing wildlife around us (outside the pool cage) including: Birds of prey, tortoise, squirrels, lizards, armadillo and rabbits!
We went to Englewood Beach, Boca Grande beach and Stump Pass beach - all within twenty minutes drive. The water was warm and crystal clear (especially at Boca Grande by the lighthouse) and the beaches are so quiet. It was literally paradise! We took with us beach towels, deck chairs, plastic wine glasses and cool box (all provided) and had a pre-dinner picnic whilst watching the sunset!
We did a sunset cruise with Gasparilla Boat Tours where we watched dolphins whilst the sun went down - magical!
We went to Marie Selby Gardens in Sarasota (approx. one hour away from the villa) which was a really nice day out and highly recommended if nature is your thing!
Busch Gardens is just over an hour's drive from Dragonflies too so if you fancy a day of adventure, it's not far from home. We went last year and absolutely loved it.
We plan on returning to Dragonflies next year but hopefully for three weeks if our schedules allow!
I can't recommend Dragonflies Villa enough. Book it now and see for yourselves. You will not be disappointed!

We spent two weeks at Dragonflies in August and had a fantastic time. The villa is immaculate, very comfortable and clean with everything you think you need provided and much more. The local area is quiet but there's plenty to do within easy reach, and further afield. We had day trips to Busch Gardens, The Ringling Museum in Sarasota (highly recommended), Miramar Outlets and even an overnight in WDW for MNSSHP (in August!) Our plans for kayaking and paddle boarding were spoiled by Hurricane Harvey so will just have to return another time.
Thanks to Bernadette for making everything so easy, would love to visit again.

We stayed at Dragonflies villa at the beginning of August, we had an amazing time and totally loved the villa and pool. This is the first villa we have ever wanted to return to and have already booked up for next year. Everything possible was supplied in the villa and the decor and furnishings are of the highest standard. Berandette was fantastic, replying quickly to emails and offering advice.

We spent the second week of our holiday at Dragonflies after a busy week in Orlando and found it to be the perfect retreat. We spent more time "at home" than we normally would in a villa and found that it had all we could have wanted and more. The local beaches are beautiful and only a short drive away. Also nearby are supermarkets and restaurants including all the usual chains. We enjoyed barbecues by the pool as we watched amazing sunsets in very peaceful surroundings. The villa itself is extremely well maintained, furnishings and bedding are of a high standard and attention to detail is very much key to this well run and managed home. Paul and Bernadette clearly have their hearts in Dragonflies and we very much hope to return in the future.

We returned yesterday from spending the last 10 days of our holiday at Dragonflies. This was a special holiday for my husband's 50th birthday and I cannot thank Bernadette and Paul enough for allowing us to stay in their beautifully villa. They have thought of every detail to make your stay such an enjoyable and easy experience. From deckchairs, cool boxes, parasols (to take to the beaches) to beach towels, pool inflatables - it was just perfect.
We don't usually make full use of the villa pools because in the evenings, it's usually a bit nippy for me but with the solar panel heated large pool - we spent a lot more time in the villa pool.
The location is perfect to visit many of the Gulf beaches, shopping outlets and a huge variety of restaurants. The BBQ at the villa was superb - we have stayed in 6 villas in Orlando and because of the pace of the holiday, have never actually had a BBQ! We bought a variety of different meats and fishes, ate outside under the lanai - it was a perfect evening.
Dragonflies is a very much loved and looked after well equipped villa and if you are wanting a relaxing and peaceful time, I cannot recommend it enough.

We have just returned for our first 8 day stay at Dragonflies. I wish it had been longer. Maybe next time. As we will return. Dragonflies is a very lovely, clean, spacious and extremely well equipped villa. We had the best time ever. As in previous reviews there are 3 supermarket very close by, Winn Dixie being the closest. We made trips to Port Charlotte, Venice, Boco Grande Beach, Englewood Public Beach and to the Miromar Outlets at Estero.
The numerous restaurants which we tried in the area were all very good and very reasonable (Prime Time,Lock and Key, The White Elephant, Wine bar and Bistro, Mamas Italian Kitchen and Mango). The facilities in the villa would allow you to cater for yourselves but who wants to cook on holiday!?
This was our 5th stay on the Gulf Coast but the first at Dragonflies and my brother in laws first time to America, I think Dragonflies has spoiled it for him to go anywhere else.
I certainly will return in the not to distance future but don't take my word for it, try it for yourselves!

This was our third stay in the amazing Dragonflies Villa in Rotonda and believe me you will go a long way to find a cleaner, well maintained villa with better facilities and excellently positioned to where ever you want to go. We generally would stay in Dragonflies at the end of our 2 or 3 week stay meaning that we have the opportunity to chill by the pool for all day and evening sun. If you would prefer to explore the locality you have some outstanding beaches within a 15 minute drive but we found Boca Grande to be our favourite and have spent many happy hours here.

We have found it best to leave some roomin the suitcases for our annual stop off at the Ellenton Outlets where you don't have to pay the Orlando tourist prices where they have all the big name stores as in Orlando. Westfield Mall in Sarasota is another favourite and the malls in around the Murdock Circle in Port Charlotte as well. Day trips to Venice, Sarasota and Port Charlotte are a must and they are all within drive able distances from Rotonda.

The position of Dragonflies having Walmart, Publix and Wynn Dixie within 5 minutes of the villa shows how central it is. If you can fit in a trip to watch the Stone Crabs baseball team in Port Charlotte, you will have a wonderful evening's craic all for $10. We also hade some lovely meals in the Cove restaurant which is only 10 mins from the villa.

All in all, it is an absolute treat to stay in Dragonflies but don't take our booking because we will definitely be back, lol. Finding this amazing villa was one of the greatest thing we have ever found in Florida. Enjoy.

I really dont want to write this review... purely selfish reasons... I dont want everyone to stay there and then we cant! Bernadette and Paul must be so proud of their villa, it is beyond doubt the best villa we have ever stayed in.

The decor and attention to detail is as americans would say, 'AWESOME!' If you need any assistance during your stay Bernadette is always at the end of the phone (a free phone call, by the way!) for you to ask, nothing is too much trouble.

The location is excellent - people we met were welcoming and friendly, the beaches are stunning, sunsets, sea cruises, wildlife, shopping at Port Charlotte, Boca Grande, Publix practically 5 mins away (I love Publix, so this is a real plus for me!), we LOVED it all.

We so wanted to go back next jul/aug... but they are already booked up! See what I meant when I started off by saying I didnt want to write this! This was our 5th trip to Florida and our love of the West coast grows every time...so that's Duck Key and the Keys done, Marco Island and Naples done and now Englewood and the surrounding areas... Sanibel next on the hit list...
