Add a touch of understated elegance to the summer ambiance of the turn of the century summer homes found on Martha's Vineyard, and you have Disney's Beach Club Resort. The pale blue and white three to five-storey buildings, with their fancy cut shingles, French doors and seashell motifs, were designed by renowned architect, Robert A.M.Stern. Designed 'stick-style', this was a popular architectural style for seaside wooden cottages in the 1860's and 1870's.
Decorated with the white wicker furniture, natural Spanish limestone flooring and 24-foot high ceilings, the seacoast imagery continues on to the outdoors where beachside cabanas line the white sand shores of Crescent Lake. The landscaping is also reminiscent of a New England style with magnolias, Japanese elms, Bradford pear trees, crepe myrtle, gardenias and roses lining the courtyards and walkways. This deluxe resort is joined in the center by Disney's Yacht Club Resort.
For groups requiring meeting facilities, these resorts offers 73,000 square feet of meeting space, a 52,000 square foot convention center with a state-of-the-art sound and lighting system. The Harbor Ballroom is over 36,000 square feet and can accommodate 2,800 guests for dinner. With 21 breakout rooms, a business center, satellite up/down link capabilities, vast exhibit capabilities, and comprehensive meeting support, the Disney's Yacht and Beach Club Resorts conference facility is a very attractive location for businesses.

Cape May Cafe
Cape May Cafe is located to the right of the lobby at Disney's Beach Club Resort. The restaurant has been wonderfully themed as a New-England style beachside setting. It is open daily from 7.30am to 11am for 'Character Breakfast' and from 5pm to 9pm for Dinner services.
Enjoy your 'Disney Character Breakfast' as you are joined by your favourites. Get your autographs and photos of Minnie Mouse, Goofy and Donald Duck dressed in their seaside costumes.
Beaches and Cream
Beaches and Cream is located in the common area near Stormalong Bay in Disney's Yacht & Beach Club Resort. This well favoured shop is open daily from 11am to 11pm.
This Soda Shop oozes with the 1950's vintage era, taking you back to old-fashioned childhood memories of seaside holidays. Decorated in pastel colours, with wall morals and with tunes coming from the Jukebox, it evokes a great fun-filled atmosphere. Seating is a range of booths, tables and chairs in the middle and there are a few bar stools situated at the counter.
Recreation
The Resort offers 3 acres of aquatic fun for the whole family, where you can catch currents in an expansive sand-bottomed pool. From the top of the life-sized shipwreck, zip down a 230-foot-long waterslide, one of the highest slides at Walt Disney World Resort. Float down the lazy river on a rented inner tube, unwind in one of 3 whirlpool spas or simply relax on the elevated tanning deck. Children can wade into the main pool from the gently sloping, sandy beach and cool off in the kiddie pool—complete with a miniature waterside.
Yellow area is the kids section near the Yacht Club
Blue is the 'Lazy River'. NB some parts of this are 8ft deep and the current can be quite strong
Red line is the slide. NB entry to slide is across the path, you have to leave the main pool area.

You can also hire Bikes and Boats for those who would like to sail on Crescent Lake. There's a Playground for the kid's and Lafferty Place Arcade with a variety of video games for them to play on.

Epcot's International Gateway is a 5 min walk away, and you enter the World Showcase between France and the UK pavilions.
Buses serve all the other parks and DTD, we never waited long.
The onsite dining is excellent - Cape May Cafe for character breakfasts and Clam Bake buffets; Beaches and Cream for burgers and the famous Kitchen Sink; Yachtsman Steakhouse for Signature dining and Captain's Grill for breakfast buffets and mid range meals. The only real dining let down is counter service - there is a good, but limited choice at the Marketplace, and burgers etc at Hurricane Hanna's in the pool area. There are several small adult bar areas to enjoy a drink while waiting to eat.
Stormalong Bay is small waterpark just for Y and B club guests -( and they are strict about checking.) There are plenty of sunbeds and lots of different areas of the pool including a sand bottom area, a waterslide and a (not so) lazy river. There's also a small quiet pool and a volleyball pitch further along.
There's a gym and a hair salon next to Stormalong Bay.
The rooms were refurbished a couple of years ago and are elegantly furnished; many have a day bed as well as 2 queen beds or 1 king bed. They have either a regular balcony or a small 'Juliet' style balcony. The ground floor rooms are best (IMO) as they have a small patio area opening out onto gardens, quiet pool or a lake view.
The mousekeeping service has always been good - though as everywhere, some are better than others! The front desk staff are very helpful with any requests you have.
The beach is kept very clean and tidy (it's raked clean each morning) and there are rows of sunbeds - you can paddle in the lake but there is no swimming allowed. At night there are movies on the beach and kids can cook marshmallows.
At the end of a long day, it's just lovely to walk to Epcot or the Boardwalk for a meal and drink, then take a walk around the lake before sitting on the beach for a while watching the lights and the Friendships. We love it and will be loathe to try anywhere else now.
