Virgin Atlantic Vs British Airways.
Given a choice of flying with Virgin or BA which one would folks choose?
Have been flying with Thomson for the past few years so no idea of whose "better" between BA and virgin ? Prices are pretty much identical so anecdotal stuff would be good Are both companies planes flying LGW to orlando 3-3-3 seat layout ? Thanks in advance for any help Bob |

Bob... I tend to fly Virgin on transatlantic routes as I think the PE / Business offering is better than BA. I also find it easier to find rewards, build miles and TPs with Virgin. I don't consider myself a heavy flyer (5 or 6 transatlantic routes a year), but more than the average holiday maker. For those reasons the Virgin flying club is perfect for me as I always find a way to upgrade to PE or Upper. That's not to say BA are bad, it's just I'd need to be flying with them a hell of a lot more to see the same rewards. On-board I always find the staff polite. As it happens, I flew BA last week (short hop) and found them very good.
If you're not flying much, flying economy, and have no loyalty to either I think you'll find them very similar. You'll come across some pro-BA and some pro-VS travellers but IMHO, there's not much between them. To find out the seat config, do a 'dummy booking' and then click the flight number to see what plane you'd be flying on. Virgin either operate a 2-4-2 or 3-4-3. Not sure about BA. |

BA operate a 3-3-3 config on their 777.
If you get the old 747 with Virgin the IFE is still the old loop system, whereas BA (and new Virgin A330) use the AVOD system where you have a bank of movies to choose from and can pause, rewind etc. I prefer BA personally, but I would go with Virgin if they were cheaper. |

We fly with BA, also has reward system, but a better entertainment system and also the choose of flying into Tampa and Orlando. Our villa takes 1hour to get to and villas that are situated down the bottom end of the 27, would be even less.

We all ways use Virgin ...This year BA were cheaper ...so we chose them ... Flight out we were converted the BA ,staff were utterly brilliant ...service was superb ...leading us to believe that this was standard ... Flight back different story ... Virgin won by a mile ...funny how there can be such a vast difference in service but it does happen ... so i shall now be happy to fly with either knowing the service ...but will go with the price ... I would not do this with other airlines just these 2 ..As i dont fly i need an airline that i feel i can trust

BA for me, in virgin they pour you wine into plastic beaker, on BA you get you own little bottle. virgin cut their cheese and biscuits. in flight entertainment better by miles.

I can only comment on Virgin and having flown with them a few times to Orlando and Dubai I wouldn't fly with them again giving the choice. I know shouldn't be to critical but having had a very cramped seat coming home from Orlando one year has put me off flying Virgin. I also know they have newer aircraft and this particular flight was on a Jumbo about 3 years back
