Maxing out the annual Pass - November 2014
Hello all :-) Well, it seems that 3 trips to the Disney magic in 12 months is just not enough for me... I now have not one, not two but three trips in the pipeline!
The Cast I'm Ruth. I'm 36 years old, and work in a local hospital as an Operating Department Practitioner, mainly in Anaesthetics. If you don't know what an ODP is, don't worry, neither do insurance companies or most of the NHS! I love my job, yes it can be stressful at times, and it never going to be the best paid, but it can be very satisfying. Best of all is that I only work 4 shifts a week... meaning that, if I start on a Sunday, my working week can be finished by Wednesday evening. Having visited Disney World twice as a child, I was bitten by the Disney bug in 2002 with a one day trip to Disneyland in California. Since then, I have been to DLP 13 times, including on my honeymoon with DH :-) We own a timeshare week near DLP, so will be visiting at least once a year for the foreseeable future. And that's it! For the first time since 2011 I am going to DLP solo. How the trip came about DH and I visited DLP in November last year, then with his sister's family in February half term. An awesome time was had by all, including my nephew saying "Auntie Ruth, this has been the best birthday ever"! My annual pass has been crying out to me from it's safe storage place with my passport... and with the expiry date approaching fast I looked in to a last minute trip to the magic. With a few shift - swaps it was all sorted... with two week days off together, it was a go! This was on Monday 27th October, and I fly out on 6th November! Usually I have a little more time to plan, but never mind Travel Having number crunched various flight combinations, and Eurostar, I was on the verge of booking Air France flights for £212... when I found even better timed flights, including two nights in a hotel for £235 with Expedia. I also redeemed some Nectar Points that I had been saving up for a rainy day, so the booking came to £190. I fly from Manchester at 0845 on Thursday morning, flying back on Saturday evening. I have booked TGV transfers from CDG to DLP, so I'm hoping that we are not delayed! |

Accomodation
The deal on Expedia was at Hipark Serris-Val d'Europe - not a hotel I had heard of, but the reviews was good, and it had a free shuttle bus to the park, so suited me fine for two nights. Plans! The main development at DLP since we were there in February is the opening of the Ratatouille ride, so I'm hoping to fit this in at least a few times. EMH are at the Studios whist I am there, which suits me as I tend to spend more time here anyway, and I love Tower of Terror and Rock n' Roller Coaster. Unfortunately the shuttle buses don't start early enough for EMH (annual passholders have access, even when staying off site) so will either be walking or going via train, although I think the walk to the train station is nearly as far as to the park! With everything being a bit more last minute, I'm going to try to go with the flow a bit more than I usually do, but as I'll be on my own I should be able to fit lots on. Of course I will miss these two boys lots and lots, but will find them some nice pressies... any of the shops specialise in pet things? |
