The only issue we have ever had is from bus noise, not room noise. The buses make quite a racket when they lower the side etc so we always ask for a room well away from buses.

We sat in Row 1 last year, yes the leg room is fine but the biggest issue for us was that the lack of footrest for the front rows. Next year we are in the back row with the "no recline issue" sorted.
