Leaving MK after fireworks

We're hoping to see the MK fireworks on our trip next month. Are there any tips on leaving the park afterwards? We did it once before a few years ago and remember it being pretty horrible getting back to TTC with tired children in tow and lots of queues and crowds. The park closes at the same time as the fireworks, so there isn't an option to stay later, I assume cast members encourage everyone towards the exit as soon as they finish

Stay later.

Seriously, they won't start immediately herding people out - I believe Main Street typically stays open for about an hour after official park close. I plan on parking my behind on the Hub and not leaving until they do the final sweeps, it's my favourite time in MK.

You're going in what should be one of the quietest times though, so hopefully that TTC queue won't be too bad.

ETA: One exception might be if you're going on an After Hours night, as there's a couple in Feb. They might sweep for non-ticket holders earlier than usual.

We have stayed behind before to let the crowds disperse a bit and then taken a slow wander down main Street. The sweepers are all out tidying up for the next day but it is lovely and relaxed. No one rushes you out they just don't let you go in the other direction.

Main Street shops stay open for an hour or so after closing. I usually take my time and slowly browse through the shops and let all the crowds dissipate before heading to the exit (I do this for the other parks too).

They don't kick you out once the park closes - there will still be people who are in line for rides/etc (you can get in line 1 minute before closing and they will let you wait for the ride and ride it), and people browsing the shops, etc.

There's also a Kiss Goodnight show on the castle - nothing very fancy but nice to see if you still happen to be around after closing. It runs a couple of times I think after closing (basically it's a way of encouraging people to leave but it's a nice thing to see) - CMs around the hub should be able to tell you what time it runs.

One tip is to walk over to the Contemporary Hotel, about 10 mins walk and get the resort monorail back to TTC. might not be any quicker but def less stressful than being stuck in tbe crowds for the ferry or monorail .

Thanks everyone. Just double checked and the night I was planning isn't an After Hours night. Good to know that there's no rush, probably less painful to wander the shops for a while than be in crowds and queues with tired children! I was envisaging them trying to push everyone towards the exit as quickly as they could
