Make a list of places you want to see, Strawberry Fields, whatever, make a route to include as many as possible.
You could start at Harlem end and walk back or the other way around. Maybe take a cab back or subway if you are tired. Plan for toilet stops, they can be few and far between. My preference would be to start opposite Dakota building, visit everything between the middle and back towards the Guggenheim, then walk back towards Columbus Circle through the park. Personally, there isn't much of interest from the middle towards Harlem. All the best bits are the other end. |

Hi
we got the subway to 110 st - Cathedral Parkway then spent about 4 hours strolling back down to the 5th Ave entrance. We printed of a map from Google and marked things we wanted to see / walk through, bridges, arches the turtle lake, strawberry fields etc. |

Depends what you want to do / see and the time of year. There are a number of good apps available which given good Wi-fi coverage in NYC is a bonus.

We rented a bike - there were a few bike rental shops nearby and we went to the one covered on the New York Pass (or whichever one it was that we had). Then cycled one entire round around all of Central park, which was great for seeing a bit of everything very quickly!

We got a cab to the history museum, crossed the road to the park and walked through the park to the Loeb boathouse cafe, then the zoo and out at 5th Avenue, it was a lovely walk on Christmas Day 2017! Beautiful weather!
