If it's the same as Miami it may be the transformers (electricity) blowing, i.e. loss of power.

Was just stood talking to a sheriff at AKL and she said the 3 flashes was 3 transformers on sherberth rd blowing one after the other.

As Clare says. It's the power transformers shorting out with the wind and rain.

I'm honestly amazed what my mother will sleep through. There's a Cat 2 hurricane raging out there, I just flushed the toilet, the TV's on... She's still snoring! In a way, I'd say it's probably better to leave her sleep. That is until we have to seek additional shelter in the bathroom. Anyone know about the tornado watch?

Amazingly we are very close to Sherbeth Rd and still have power. Osceola has been very lucky with power outages compared to many counties.

The tornado warnings have stopped now at least.
