It's charging you for a whole day. As others said, just turn up and park.

Watch the time though - staying an extra few mins could cost a lot, OTOH once you're into the next hour then you might as well stay.

There is now a tram to the airport from Central and outskirts of manchester and probably parking short term

Thank you for all the replies, I will try the multistorey and see how we get on, just didn't want to turn up and get stung for £30 for the hour or so.Cheers guys.
