Cairnryan to lowestoft is a long drive, I stay on the outskirts of Stirling which is around 3hrs drive away from the ferry port, my friend has family in lowestoft and it takes her around 9/10hrs to get there stopping once and depending on traffic. Have a fabulous break anyway and hopefully the sun will stay here in bonny Scotland for you 🌞

Defo drop Stonehaven leg. No offence, I’m half an hour away. We’re just back from fort Augustus and there’s no way I’d do 4 hr drive to Stonehaven from there. Not worth it. Nice as Stonehaven is. Save it to another time. Ie, Edinburgh, Stonehaven, north of aberdeen, loop into Inverness then down the A9.

I would recommend fort Augustus as a 2 night base, then head to west coast. Isle of Skye (don’t need to book a ferry). Or mallaig/mhorar. Stunning scenery and lots of lovely places to stop and eat (seafood). If you do the mallaig route, stop off at the rail bridge in the Harry Potter movie.

Your drive from fort Augustus to Skye or mallaig will take a couple of hours each way. Or head north from fort Augustus, up to Inverness (go a slight bit further to chanonry point at high tide to view dolphins, from standing on the shore), driving up east side of Loch Ness, and return driving on west side of Loch Ness. 2 stunning routes, totally different drives. If you have time stop off on east side a few miles out of fort Augustus. There’s a big parking area at the top of a brow, park up and climb up to top of hill on the left to get stunning views. If you want more info PM me.

After your two nights then head south. Just mho
