Airlines accused of splitting up groups

We have never paid for seats when flying as a family. We have only ever been separated once in over 20 flights. We had booked last minute flights with Thomson to Orlando (3 days before we flew) and there was a dock up at check in. We did twilight check in and were all seated together, but when we went to board the plane the next day all our seats had been moved. DH was able to sit with the youngest and the 5 of us (2 under 11, 2 under 15 and myself) were dotted all over the plane. I was dreading the flight and were told that we could complain and get compensation but the kids were all absolutely fine, they popped their headphones on and got on with it! An error is an error and it worked out fine.

Every other flight we have been on as a family we have sat together.

Checked in online the second it opened last night and my Mum and I are not sat together in BA premium economy. Waiting to see if someone nice will swap seats.

Of course why should they - you had the chance to pay and you lost the bet. You should just accept that this time you took your chance and lost and not make anyone else feel uncomfortable by asking them to change their seats...
