My children will be the death of me AKA The things our little darlings do to try our patience.

My ten year old daughter decided she wanted to discover what happened when candle wax is placed on an open flame.

So she chucked a piece in our gas fire!

The result - billowing smoke, three pieces of coal on fire completed with shooting flames, fire alarms going off all over the house, two children deciding to pack as the house was on fire and demands that I call the fire brigade.

Fire was put off and the offending coals removed and placed outside. Thank goodness for metal kitchen utensils and tinfoil! Every window is open and my downstairs smells like a dirty barbeque.

Do our little darlings spend their time finding new ways to frighten the heck out of us?

Hope you are all having a more peaceful evening. I am away for a lie down before opening the whisky.

Oh dear! Something she won’t do again now though I hope?!

I was covering someone’s shift at work tonight when another car didn’t give way and hit in to the side of me! Luckily we are both physically ok but both cars will need work, hers looks a lot worse than mine. I don’t normally drink but might have to join you with that whisky tonight!

Ladies. Can I assure you it never stops!

I posted earlier this week that I had to haggle with a car salesman in Cardiff for my Son as we were in the MK!

This morning a Whatsapp from my Daughter. Daaad can you lend me £88. Why £88 and not £90?

For Gods sake one is 29 and the other 32

When I was young one of my lovely florescent pink dangly earrings fell off into the gas fire, what a blooming kerfuffle that caused. I was very upset, I liked those earrings. Why was it considered a good idea to have mirrors in masterpieces?

I'm not sure if you meant it to be but I think your story is rather lovely... Your son obviously has a lot of faith in you and your daughter didn't want to ask more of you than she needed.

The bottom line is that your comments made me think of my fantastic dad... I'm 47 and I still need him!

I’m so sorry to laugh but this sounds like the kind of thing that happens in our house!
Glad to hear the house is still standing and nobody was hurt

When we were younger a friend of my dh thought it would be a great idea to have a fire in the metal bin in the bedroom . Queue rather large hole burnt into the carpet and floorboard ! He also thought he would try making a firework by taking the ends of matches, 10 minutes after starting he made a spark and set the pile on fire and lost his eyebrows and fringe! Don’t you just love inquisitive kids lol.

Not my kids but when I was about 5 or 6 my parents had a fabulous radiogram (older members will no what this is) very modern looking. When no one was about and the radio was on I decided to hack a bit of wood off that was over the speaker to see the Dj playing the records I never did find him lol. Took me until I was about 30 before I confessed it was me that did it.
