FOP anything like the old Star Tours
Hi There
Think the new Pandora area looks amazing and would love to try it out when we go in Aug but the wife hates rides...Never been to WDW but been to DLP and Pirates is her limit...it took us 16 years to get her on the carousel and star tours last year as it was the last day as it closed but she really liked it and wondered why she had never done it before... We have never been on any other simulator ride(don't know if Ratatouille classes as a simulator) and wondering if FOP is anything like the old Star Tours ...i mean sensation wise ..or does it actually move ..she said she could just close her eyes if feeling to overwhelmed as long as its not fast or really moving about... Hope you get what i mean... Thanks for any advice |

The usual comparison I would give would be soarin but since you haven't been to WDW before, it wouldn't be useful for you.
I don't think it is that similar to star tours in my opinion. On Star Tours you all sit in a small room together and the room sort of tips about a bit, but with Flight of Passage you all sit on your own individual ride vehicle and the ride vehicles all move around quite a lot separately. Wonder if it might be worth you seeing if you can find more information/videos on YouTube. It is definitely completely different technology to star tours in my opinion

Star tours is still in Hollywood studios in WDW, I don't know if it's the same as the DLP one?
Soarin' might be worth a try, if she likes that then I imagine FOP will also be fine. There are lots of other tame rides.

It probably helps to tell her it doesn't actually move at all, just a simulator ride a bit like star tours. The difference is you really feel that you are in the action whereas star tours is very much obviously you watching a screen with everyone else. She could just close her eyes and wouldn't probably feel much movement, but definitely try and persuade her to give it a try!

That's what i was wondering if it actually moved.. Watched some YouTube videos but they are just what you see and can't see if you actually move or not |
