Monarch of the Seas - and kids...

What on earth do you dress 2 teenage boys in on formal nights & casual nights on a 4 night cruise?

DD8 will be at home in frilly frocks, but I don't know what to do with DS's.

I don't want to spend a fortune, and the only trousers that they have are their school trousers. Same with shoes, they've only got school shoes!

In the "smart casual" night, will they be ok in their Bench jeans and chavvy Henley's/Fenchurch t-shirts?

Just a shirt and trousers would be ok for the formal. For the smart casual I just wore a t-shirt or a shirt , but neither had a logo on , just plain. I actually took my work trousers for the formal nights , just plain black and some black shoes ( which I now wear for work).

As long as they aren't in shorts , vests or hats they should be ok. I'm jealous

We went on Sovereign of the Seas last year and my 2 DS's 13 and 16 wore tuxedos! but it was a bit of an expense for one night, but they loved it. Cost about £50 each for the hire, but it did include shoes. But they would be fine with smart trousers and a shirt. On casual nights in the formal dining area they wore jeans and either t shirts or polo shirts. We adults took full advantage of getting our gladrags on in the evening!

Thanks for that - I have just told them that they have got to wear a shirt and trousers everynight and they are horrified!

But if they can wear jeans on the casual nights they will be quite happy.
