Florida Keys planning help

Found bargain flights for October today and have booked up for a week with myself and DH and 2 kids (17 & 14).

We've previously spent 2 nights in Miami and will probably spend another 2 there with the other 5 in the Keys.

Looking for any advice on places to go, things to see, where to stay (probably staying in another 2 places).

Don't know where to start!

Cypress House Hotel in Key West was nice. Definitely a trip to Key West and the Dolphin Research Center in Marathon. We also did a dolphin watching trip - you can read about it here - cocktailinhand/dolphins-p...sly-big-smile/ (it's also about the Little Toot boat in Clearwater).

We did stay somewhere else but I can't remember where, I'll have a think!

I'm desperately looking for decent priced flights in October - can you tell me who they were with please?

The Chesapeake Resort in Islamorada is lovely, we've stayed there a few times.

We went in 2015 and had a great boat trip - seeing dolphins and snorkelling with Captain Gary and Dolphin Safaris: safaricharters/

Subscribing for ideas too.
But also to say I have booked to stay at Courtyard by Marriott Marathon 3 nights for our August trip. I figure a central location on the Keys suits us rather than staying down Key West.
Great price btw OP, enjoy

If you are budget conscious then the Key West hotels are mega bucks. A lot of people stay at Marathon and drive over. They have some amazing house boats you can stay in and it's more chilled.
Key West is beautiful and watching the sunset is cool but it's not worth the premium anymore. I'd rather have the house boat and easier access to things than being able to say I stayed in Ket West!

We loved southernmost on the beach in Key west at the end of Duval St, and thoroughly enjoyed Key West. We didn't spend time at any of the other Keys... an excuse to go back I think

I love the Keys, we usually split our trip, a few days here and a few days there, very chilled and relaxed but plenty to do if you want to do it.
Have a great time, especially at those prices!
