August hours - Hollywood studios
Hi all - now the August hours are out for the parks it appears HS looks like it’s back to standard hours (apart from one emh) do we think this means we’ll be able to book fp for the galaxy’s edge rides ( tiered I assume?) x

Just watching Tim tracker - do you think the boarding groups system will still be in?

In a way, I hope the boarding group system is still in place. I think in theory it's a great idea. I for one would much rather be in a virtual queue, rather than stood in line and I think the standby lines will be massive. I'm staying offsite and so the chances of me getting a fast pass for the ride would probably be on a par with me winning the lottery!
From what I've read, as long as you are in the park by 7am (or whenever the park opens) and log on to the MDE app then you have a good chance of getting a boarding group. I think also it will be quieter by August. The ride will have opened in Disneyland California so any Star Wars fans that are desperate to ride it can head there also and I think the parks are quieter in August in comparison to Christmas. (This last paragraph is me trying to convince myself that it will all be ok!) |

I sort of agree as we do like to be in the parks before top drop, so being there won't be a problem. But I've been to DLP and used the horrific line berty app which is the only way you can book up to meet characters in the studios. You had to log on at exactly 9.45 and by 9.46 all the slots were taken. It was a soul destroying experience, with my phone dropping out of wi fi, and I fear the whole boarding group system will be the same. In the end we did manage to book up a Mickey meet, so it did all work out in the end, but it was frustrating to have to do it.
