I agree with this -a minivan is not an intermediate.
We booked a full size this year with Avis -got a Kia. It wasn’t as luxurious as cars we have had in the pas, nor as well equipped as DHs own car, but it was perfectly acceptable for what we were paying.

When we used to fly indirect into RSW we paid for a cheap as chips two door economy and usually drove out in a convertible. Had use of a friends 2004 Sebring convertible from 2012 afore buying our old Monty (2001 Pontiac Montana) in 2015... no longer care what economy style/shape we're given for our one day hire from/to MCO, as long as it's a tin box on four wheels it'll do for us

Chris. You need to look after that Pontiac. It's going to increase in value over time.

I hate to see Marques disappear and have fond memories of driving Pontiacs and Oldsmobiles in the 70's and 80's.
Best car I ever hired was an Oldsmobile 98. Drove over 3000 miles around the West Coast in the early 80's in that car.

Monty was a gamble for us Tom, we knew that, took the risk, saved circa £8k vs renting in 3 visits. We're very lucky, the friend we bought him from stores/adds Monty to his insurance policy when we leave. He changed the brake pads and oil on Friday plus a pair of disc brakes (he called them rotors) he'd been given for free and threw them on too. We bought the pads, oil/filter offer, 105 dollars which included his labour. Best cost effective decision we made buying that awld lad.

Chris. For your holidaying pattern and with a friend that looks after her one can only call it a win win situation.

I wouldn't fancy paying for a 6 month hire!

Does this mean I can post my photos from the 70's and 80's now with me stood alongside the rental cars?

Post away, as long as you're NOT in a mankini!

This will make you smile, Monty started his life as a rental for a MCO supplier afore ending up in Cape Coral
