Good golf course for Mid HC and beginners
Hi all,
Myself and family are heading to Orlando in September, and are keen to play a round of golf. Myself and 1 other are mid H/C’s (14 and 20), but are looking to take a few along who are nearer 30. The group would be between 4-6 players. We would also all be hiring clubs. Can anyone recommend somewhere that is going to be a good course for us lower folks, but not destroy the beginners? We are staying near Championsgate if that helps. Thanks in advance! |

Hi with most courses in orlando they are all suitable with plenty of different tee boxes. The 2 courses at champions gate are good with wide fairways.

Celebration is not too difficult although the 30 handicap may find it tough.
They also hire Ping clubs as well. Orange County National has 2 courses that are probably too difficult for higher handicaps. They have quite a few holes that have a long carry! But, they also have the Tooth course which is 9 holes which is a mix of par 3 and 4 and may be more suitable for the range of handicaps? They also have a fabulous practice facility. |

Interested also. I play off 29 at present, it's the long par 3's that I struggle with. Played the 2010 Ryder cup course last week at 104.
On holiday I normally play at Orange Lake resort. Course is under new management so some changes. Check out Golfnow for good prices and reviews of courses. Considering Magnolia at Disney, Mystic Dunes and maybe championsgate. |

We’ve used golf now and got good prices close to the date after looking at weather forecasts at that time of year (were there for hurricane Irma).

Have a look at Southern Dune on US 27. You can play off whatever set of tees suits your handicap. There aren't any really long carries over water which is something you sometimes find in Florida. Highlands Reserve also on US 27 will be OK for high handicappers.
