Is it really this cheap or am I doing something wrong? Even adding on park tickets and the cost of food I’d be saving about £1,500. I’m a solo traveler and I know the studios tend to be for more people but with those savings I’d go for it.

So is it really as good as it sounds? Apart from the cost savings what are the pros of points rental and are there any cons?

Many thanks
I've rented out some of our points on David's. I booked a studio for an American couple at Copper Creek in August for 5 nights. Once I had the confirmation I sent the number over to David and they passed it onto the couple.

I can see the pro for them as they get to see their booking in MDE immediately. As long as I pay the dues(when I paid my dues in full I sent a screenshot to David's as a peace of mind/courtesy thing) and don't cancel their booking they are guaranteed the studio will be there when they turn up. Very little risk on their part.

I received 70% of the cash within 24hrs, the remaining 30% will be released to me on the day they check in. Little to no risk for me. The only risk I can see is I am responsible for any damage they cause.

Am renting DVC points for the first time this year and rented thro David's- the whole process was simple and easy tho we had to wait a month or so for the second part of the stay because we wanted some time at the beach club and they had no points available for the days we wanted - a bit nailbiting but there were other choices available if the beach club points hadnt become available. So i would recommend getting on their waiting list early if u want a particular resort
We stayed at Saratogo Springs 2 years ago direct with disney including free dining and have rented points to stay there again this year because it is such a lovely resort - the saving is substantial. We had the dining plan for free last time but tbh it's really liberating not having it this year - i have found doing the planning that we have a lot more freedom because we dont have to b in a particular park or area at a particular time Having worked out the figures we are saving more than enough to cover the food as by choice we are eating at more quick service places than we did last time as we were paranoid about wasting the credits
