This is the idea I needed! I'm trying, now the kids are older to reduce things, esp as we all already have all we need. So am planning next year to do the 'something you want, something you need, something to wear something to read' thing. BUT I was wondering if I could really achieve it ... so a table tat gift would be ideal ... also no need for crackers then! Win win!

We still have tree presents. We open them about 7.30 in the evening, they should be small, no more than £5 and fun. This year my Dad gave us each a pair of novelty socks.

We do table presents at our house. I buy a small gift for everyone, usually things like a trivia game, something small to make etc and that then becomes our afternoon/evening entertainment.
Except this year when we didn't play any of them so are keeping them for NYE! |

Same here. The main presents are only opened after lunch at about 2pm. We only open small stocking presents in the morning.
TBH, we don't get to see my side of the family until Boxing Day and only get the present from them then. So we open half our presents on Christmas Day afternoon and the other half on Boxing Day. DW makes Christmas crackers for everyone, each containing a small specific gift for that person. We open these whilst having our 3 course Christmas lunch. I suppose these are a little like table presents.
